Welcome to the sensational world of science! Science is EVERYWHERE and I hope to create much interest and excitement for science in all of my students during this year!
I am very pleased to be your science teacher this year and will strive to provide a challenging and communicative learning environment for each student.
Curriculum- consists of the various science disciplines with units on the Scientific Method, the Metric System, astronomy and weathering (Earth-Space), forces and motion, electricity and magnetism (Physics), states of matter (Chemistry), life cycles, human body systems (Biology) and various topics in Environmental Science. Our team will also engage in an interdisciplinary unit focusing on major environmental issues such as human overpopulation and its effects on our environment. A variety of teaching strategies will be implemented with focus on learning science process skills through "hands-on" activities such as lab and cooperative learning activities, teacher demonstrations, and multimedia resources.
