   The Moon

The moon, as the only natural satellite of earth, orbits 384, 400 kilometers away from Earth.  With a diameter of 3,476km, it is much smaller than earth.

The moon used to be a part of earth many years ago, but when an object the size of mars hit it, a piece broke off and formed the moon.  Without air, the moon gets direct solar wind and also, direct hits by meteors.  Although most meteors would burn up in earth’s atmosphere, they do not burn up before hitting the moon.

Since the moon does not have any weather, craters, and anything else do not change, unless something hits it, so the footprints of Apollo 11 astronauts can still clearly be seen by anyone ever goes to the moon again.
