All of the resources below I have written myself, with the aid of textbooks and general talking with natives. Try to verify everything before you rely on it. And try to get to Spain! A list of recommended textbooks will be on here shortly.

An online dictionary, www.diccionarios.com -- free to use, English to Spanish, Spanish to English. Also Catalan.

A brilliant website with excellent free material, www.studyspanish.com

http://www.lingolex.com/spanish.htm -- a very good site with a wide range of vocabulary. Try it.

http://www.go-nativ.co.uk -- for the hi-tech linguist, this site offers a free 30-day trial of a program which stores and tests your knowledge of vocabulary. Thereafter one licence is £15 for all time. This has to be classed as a deal. The trial version comes complete with a wide range of vocabulary already loaded -- so even if you don't buy, you can export all that vocabulary to a RTF file.
