Trinitarians will often claim the miracles of Jesus indicate that he was God. But is this what the Bible says? Does the Bible tell us HOW Jesus was able to do his miracles? Yes it does. The Bible tells us quite clearly that Jesus did his miracles by the power of the Spirit in which he was anointed by God his Father, the very same way His Apostles did miracles.
You know... how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power; how he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. (Acts 10:38).
And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit....The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:14,18).
Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs which God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know. (Acts 2:22).
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Matthew 12:28).
Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him. (John 3:2).
The Father who abides in me does the works. (John 14:10).
The Scriptures are quite plain on this matter. Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit to do these miraculous works. The Apostles of Jesus also did miracles by the power of the Spirit in which they were sent out.
The very same thing is found when we explore where Jesus got his authority.
And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching, and said, "By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?" Jesus answered them, "I also will ask you a question and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven or from men?" And they argued with one another, "If we say, "From heaven,' he will say to us, "Why then did you not believe him?' But if we say, "From men,' we are afraid of the multitude; for all hold that John was a prophet." So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." And he said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things." (Matthew 21:23-27; see John 1:29-33).
And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, lying on his bed, and when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my son. Your sins are forgiven." And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming. [Who can forgive sins but God alone?]" But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier?, To say, "Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, "Rise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins," he then said to the paralytic, "Rise, take up your bed and go home." And he rose and went home. When the crowds saw it, they were in awe, and they glorified God who had given such authority to men." (Matthew 9:2-8; Mk 2:7).
The Scriptures are quite clear on this matter. When God the Father anointed Jesus with His Spirit at his baptism in the Jordan, He was anointed with power and authority to preach the good news, to heal and do miraculous signs, and to forgive sins.
