The Trinity Delusion An examination of the doctrine of the Trinity

Jesus' Miracles Demonstrated He was God?

Trinitarian Claim

Trinitarians will often claim the miracles of Jesus demonstrate that he was God.

Examination of the Claim

1. Jesus' Disciples did Miracles

It should be immediately evident to anyone that such a claim falls flat as soon as it is recognized that Jesus' disciples also did great miracles and no one claims this demonstrates his disciples were "God." In fact Jesus said:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also and greater works than these he will do because I go to the Father. (John 14:12).

Do Trinitarians actually believe Jesus or not?

2. We are Explicitly told how Jesus was able to do Miracles

Does the Bible clearly tell us HOW Jesus was able to do his miracles? Yes it does. The Bible tells us quite clearly that Jesus did his miracles by the power of the Spirit in which he was anointed by God his Father, the very same way His Apostles did miracles.

You know... how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power; how he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. (Acts 10:38).

And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit....The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:14,18).

Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs which God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know. (Acts 2:22).

But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Matthew 12:28).

Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him. (John 3:2).

The Father who abides in me does the works. (John 14:10).

The Scriptures are quite plain. Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit to do these miraculous works. The disciples of Jesus also did miracles by the power of the Spirit in which they were sent out.

Conclusion

Not only are we told precisely how Jesus was able to do these miracles, we also see his disciples were empowered to do miracles in the very same way. And indeed, Jesus promised that his disciples would even do greater works than he did. Hence, we see once again yet another utterly false claim from Trinitarians.
