The Antichrist

by K.N. Stovra

The following theorizes that the spirit of the antichrist began at the death of Christ and has been in the world since that time. The spirit of the antichrist is the spirit of the Temple of Solomon and the Antichrist is himself the church's Judas.

Children, it is the last hour and just as you heard that Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared. From this we know that it is the last hour. (1 John 2:18).

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is deity or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being deity. Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-7).

The Death of Jesus

The Conspiracy Against Jesus

And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time. (Luke 4:13).

Jesus answered them, "Did I myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?" Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him. (John 6:70-71).

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the High Priest, named Caiaphas and they plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth and kill him. But they were saying, "Not during the festival, otherwise a riot might occur among the people." (Matthew 26:3-5).

Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve; he went away and conferred with the chief priests and officers how he might betray him to them. And they were glad, and engaged to give him money. So he agreed, and sought an opportunity to betray him to them apart from the crowd. (Luke 23:3-6).

The Last Supper

Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour had come that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him.... "He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.' I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he.... Jesus then answered, "That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him." So when He had dipped the morsel, He took and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. After the morsel, Satan then entered into him. Therefore Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly." Now no one of those reclining at the table knew for what purpose He had said this to him. For some were supposing, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, "Buy the things we have need of for the feast" or else, that he should give something to the poor. So after receiving the morsel he went out immediately and it was night.

Even my bosom friend in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted his heel against me. But do thou, O Lord, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. (Psalm 41:9).

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel. (Genesis 3:15).

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. (John 3:14-15).
