The Problem with Your Sins
"He who does righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous" (1 John 3:7)
Are you a Slave of Sin?
Do you believe that you just can't stop sinning?
Do you not know that those who sin are slaves of sin and sinners will not enter the Kingdom of God?
Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. John 8:34-35.
Are you a slave of sin or a son of God? Those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?... our old humanity was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin for He who has died is freed from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer Lords over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. So also consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey sin's desires and do not continue yielding the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but yield yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. (Romans 6:1-13).
Have you died to sin and alive to God or are you alive to sin and dead to God?
Shall we sin because we are not under Law but under grace? May it never be! Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you yielded your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto holiness. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free of righteousness. Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.... the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:14-21).
Are you obedient to sin and therefore a slave of sin? Are you a slave of righteousness or a slave of sin? Are you free of sin or a slave of sin?
Do you have knowledge of God? Do you know the power of God? With God nothing is impossible. And it is God at work in the faithful. Do you think God might be able to empower men to stop sinning?
Do you still insist that you cannot stop sinning? Perhaps you know not the Scriptures nor the power of God.
Bow down and surrender to Lord Jesus.
