THE SECOND BRITISH NATIONAL UFO SKYWATCH

WAS HELD AT BONNYBRIDGE CENTRAL SCOTLAND ON JULY 27th.
REPORT BY WAYNE HILDERSLEY

After the success of the previous National UFO skywatch held by Strange Phenomena Investigations in Rendlesham Forest Suffolk, we once again held another skywatch this time at the UFO 'Hot Spot' of Bonnybridge in Stirlingshire Central Scotland.  The following report is by Edinburgh UFOlogist Wayne Hildersley.  (M.R.)

On the 27th of July 2002 Malcolm Robinson founder of Strange Phenomena Investigations (SPI) held the second British National UFO skywatch in the small town of Bonnybridge in Stirlingshire Central Scotland.  Bonnybridge is a world famous UFO 'Hot Spot' and has been since the early 1990's.  Independent member of Parliament and former mayor of Bonnybridge Billy Buchanan even tried to twin the town of Bonnybridge with the town of Roswell in the late 1990's comparing the two towns as the most likely places on the planet to see UFOs.  Attendees were asked to meet up in the Royal Hotel in Bonnybridge at 9:00pm.  I myself only found out about the skywatch 6 hours earlier when I purchased the August edition of UFO Magazine.  Those of you who are familiar with my own UFO research will know that I am based in Edinburgh some 30 miles away from Bonnybridge.

I dropped everything and made my way there, not an easy journey I might add.  With a bit of bus hopping I arrived at 9:00pm on the dot.  The first person I spoke to was from Edinburgh, he looked very familiar but I could not work out why at the time.  He told me the 'UFO people' were upstairs in the lounge.  I made my way up the stairs of this Georgian style hotel with it's deep red and blue styled décor.  The lounge had a peaceful and comfortable ambience.  As it was still early with barely two dozen attendees quietly chatting, I settled at the bar with a drink.  I engaged in a three way conversation with the manager of the Royal Hotel and a press photographer from the Glasgow Sunday Herald newspaper.  Both men were from Ireland.  They compared stories of their homeland like two long lost friends with myself as their audience.  I was shown a letter from Malcolm Robinson asking if his establishment could be used to show a film and slide presentation about UFOs.  The photographer from the Herald ushered me towards the reporter that was doing the story.  She is American,
"Go and talk to her Wayne" "She might learn something" he said.  She was sitting on her own so I went over for a chat.
