Licence Agreement
You are free to use the HotBasic Compiler Trial version for evaluation, but written permission from the author is required for sale of this program or packaging it in products for sale and for use in home, commercial or governmental settings, including software writers who use or distribute HotBasic-compiled executables.
By downloading these materials, you further agree not to post these files in any manner for download or transfer by any means (please see Security below).
Security
HotBasic should be obtained only from the author, to avoid possible malicious code which may be inserted into unauthorized copies which might be obtained elsewhere.
Installation
Go to the Download page and download hb_trial.zip.
If your HotBasic (HB) directory is, say, c:\hot, then the .zip file is unzipped into that working directory.
hb.bat contains the working directory which may be edited to fit the drive and name you actually use. Once that hb.bat is correct, you can copy it to any drive/directory where your .bas projects are located. .bas files can be put in the hot directory and compile, also. Often, it is convenient to have files associated with each project in their own directory. Then in that directory, you just type "hb myprog". Notice that the HotBasic Compiler hot.exe assumes the default program file extension of .bas if none is specified, as in the example above.
