11/28/2002: Hm... really weird today. My sister has been complaining about her Cingular phone 'cause it gets really crappy reception in Berkeley, so my dad and sister leave to go grocery shopping. They come back later... with new cell phones! :-O Really shocked me! And just for the heck of it, they bought a shared plan for my sister and me, so I got a new cell phone! :-) Not that it really matters, since I rarely use it anyway. :-P Well, for anyone wondering, my new number is (650)400-8885.

11/27/2002: Blah. I already forgot some past thoughts I was going to post. If only I had the time to post when I had the thoughts, then this wouldn't happen. :-/ O well. It's Thanksgiving! :-) Wow, what a wonderful day and a wonderful reminder! So much to be thankful for... heck, I won't even try to list them all. I'm especially thankful for my really cool sister, who came home this weekend! :-) One thing that kinda irritates me, though, is how bastardized some holidays have become. >:o (I'm using the actual definition here, sorta; I'm not swearing! :-P) Seriously, I picked up the San Jose Mercury yesterday and guess what? I see "Shows to watch this weekend" and you know what else? They were all Christmas movies!!! >:o Thanksgiving is such an awesome holiday, but because people don't exchange presents and there are no commercialized figureheads or songs it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves!!! Gr... just makes me mad. Heh, I guess I'm just weird that way. :-D HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! :-)

11/26/2002: Woohoo! UC app finally sent in! :-P Well, my essay sucked quite frankly, but I'm hoping my school record and ELC stuff pulls me through. ;-) Haha, o well, we'll see. A little over half a month until I hear from Cal Tech and MIT. Unfortunately, I'm a little worried that I forgot to schedule and interview with MIT... :-/ O well.

11/21/2002: Fall Sports Awards. :-/ The awards were pretty quick this year. I forgot that we were supposed to dress up, so I showed up in a T-shirt and sweatpants. :-P o well! This was only my second year, but it was still my last... I was feeling kinda sentimental. :-( Ernie is a really cool guy and I'm going to miss him, even though I rarely talked to him. And I'm definitely going to miss running! :'( The really cool part was after the awards. Afterward, Ernie and Craig each gave little speeches to the team: Ernie talked about how proud he was of everyone and Craig tried to encourage the Varsity teams to keep trying harder for States. Then the team gave all 3 (Daner) coaches gifts. Ernie got a T-shirt with signatures on it and a photo album from this year. Daner got a similar T-shirt and a drawing of Nancy's with quotes around it. Er... I don't remember what Craig got... >_< So overall it was really cool! :-) I'm going to miss cross-country next year... :'(

11/21/2002: Turkey Feast was today! Yummy!!! :-) Yup, I love the turkey feast! Especially the pie... mmm... *drools* :-P Anyway, I got out of Stat a little late and the line was hecka long, so I only got seconds this year. :-/ Which really isn't bad, but some of my friends got thirds! >:o

11/20/2002: HECK YEAH!!! I finally got my license!!! :-D Haha, it's only... 1.25 (?) years later than I could have gotten it! ;-) O well, I finally have my interim license!!! Well... my license picture is going to look pretty ugly when I get it, since my dad had just dragged me out of bed the day I got my permit... >_<

11/18/2002: Gunn XC is #1!!! :-D Yay!!! Both Boys' and Girls' Varsity XC teams won Division 2 in CCS last Saturday! That means that they're all going to the State meet! :-) Congratulations everybody!!! And GOOD LUCK!!!

11/16/2002: Got back from CCiC MV Harvestfest 2002! :-) It was pretty fun again. But I'm always surprised at the lack of organization... :-( I mean, they do a good job planning and everything, but then things get mixed up and don't go so well during the actual event. I didn't win a door prize this year, which is okay, considering I won Barney toothpaste two year ago! >_< Haha, o well. Haystack stuffing was pretty fun and the team-plank-walking thingy was a good idea. The newspaper whacking game seemed pretty fun, but it really hurt when someone hits your head! :-( I thought that they found a really cool alternative to the 4-way tug-o-war from 2 years ago. This time they used innertubes and called out people randomly. Fun, but since there were so many people, they didn't let most groups actually finish and everyone only went once. Maybe they should break off into upperclassmen and lowerclassmen groups/rooms if there are enough people next time. And there wasn't turkey fighting! :-( I was looking forward to that! O well. It was still fun and i enjoyed myself! :-)

11/16/2002: *sigh* Well, today was pretty fun. :-) In the morning, I went to Polya, the math competition that's made my Mr. Zucker and imitates the ARML. I haven't done much real math this year (Stat doesn't count! >:o), so I pretty much bombed it... :-( I did a good amount on the team and power rounds, but I think I could've/should've done more and then I just completely flopped on the individual round... >_< I got a 4 this year, when I could have gotten a 7! >:o gr... I just made some stupid mistakes. *sigh* Well, somehow I still got an "honorable mention." Then again, so did everyone else on my team! ;-) And our team (Gunn GHOTI) somehow still got third after Homestead and Lynbrook! :-D Yay!

11/14/2002: Heh, rather interesting in Physics today... Mr. Dunbar was stamping hw and he came to my table and asked if we (me and Leslie) had any questions. I asked a little question about an object hitting a wall, and Mr. Dunbar started saying something about how we never ask questions. I remember him saying, "everyone else has questions, but when I get to this table, it's always 'uh... no, I'm fine.' ... I don't know what I'm saying." And then he kinda walked off... Well, I got a good test grade, so I'm happy. :-) Though Cynthia So beat me again... o well, I guess she's smarter.

11/11/2002: Hm... I just re-read my last entry (11/9) and I realized that it sounded quite depressing. Don't get me wrong; I was really excited and happy to attend the PACO concert and see all of those familiar faces! It just... wasn't as great as I had hoped it would be. O well, maybe that's just me being stupid for wanting better relationships with people that I've only known for 2 years and that I see only sparsely... :-/

11/09/2002: *sigh* Today was the first time that I've been to a PACO concert this year and my first in a long time... It was cool to see a lot of the people! :-) ... but it also reminded me of some not-so-happy feelings... :-( *sigh* PACO was fun for me and I really enjoyed playing under Eric Hansen my first year. But outside of actually performing, I met a lot of new people and made new friends. But... I always felt like something of an outsider... :-( I dunno... I know that I always felt like I wasn't good enough for PACO, since I never practiced and I really suck. Then everyone else had a bunch of friends already and even the friends I made had even closer friends to talk to. I didn't really connect with any of the other guys: a few of them I talked to, the others I didn't like... Most of the people I talked to turned out to be girls... which is really weird, now that I think about it... :-/ Heh, o well. But I never really felt like I fit in. And then today I was totally reminded of that. Trina is really social and knows just about everybody, so she didn't seem to have much to say to me and kept moving on. Judy waved to me and exchanged a few words and that was about it. Kenzie didn't say much, either. David, who is in 3 of my classes, didn't even talk to me... :'( Amanda sat next to me and we talked a little, so that was cool. Then Isaac and I talked a little about school, and that was pretty cool. I think Elizabeth was the real exception. I probably talk to her the most out of anybody in PACO, so we talked quite a bit. But... it was still kind of depressing... :-( O well. I just don't mesh well with some people and I don't have too much in common with most of the people in PACO anymore... *sigh*

11/09/2002: Well, adding to the list below (11/5) of past jr. high classmates, tonight at the Senior PACO concert, I saw Trina Stoneham and Jeremy Lim again as well as Greg Stewart. I thought that the concert was good. The harpist was awesome and so was the flutist. The hymn by Charles Ives was hecka weird. And the speeches were pretty boring, other than Clarion's one on Haydn's Symphony No. 82 in C Major (aka "The Bear"). :-P

11/07/2002: Hm... I've just noticed something kinda intersting. I've done XC for the last 2 years, and both years it really helped me get to know someone (my "running buddy" :-P)! Last year it was Mike Wu, whom I knew, but not too well. Afterward, I knew him a lot better. And then this year, Mike burn my butt, so I ended up running with Jon Yu. I didn't know Jon at all and now he's a really good friend and we talk a lot, especially on AIM (see his quotes section! :-P) Yeah... I think that that's really cool. Another thing I noticed is that Mike Wu said that he is really glad that ran because he got to meet a lot of the underclassmen. I didn't really talk to any of the underclassmen (other than maybe Alex G. the freshman)... :-/ Yeah... and then for badminton last year, I got to meet a bunch of ppl in lower grades! Like... everyone other than freshmen! Kind of a weird contrast... hm... o well. Those are just my random observations! :-D I can't wait for badminton to start!!! :-)

11/05/2002: Woah... I just realized that I've actually seen more people recently from my jr. high than I have in a loooooong time! Ok, on Saturday at Gunn for SATs, I saw Trina Stoneham and Matt Jurka. And then today at the SCVAL XC meet @ Crystal Springs, I saw Alvin Hsu, Anthony Robertson, Colleen Lynch, and Emily Brown (?)!! Weird... O yeah! And then some time ago I went to Galen's sleep-over and I saw Galen Chan, Jeremy Lim, Ali Esmali, Eric Scott, and Eric Mika. *sigh* they've all changed so much... :-( reminds me how our paths have really diverged... :'( It kinda depresses me to think about it... *sigh* Ok, I'll stop thinking about that now. Well, it was really cool to see everyone again! :-) Haha, actually I did even say "hi" to anyone @ Crystal. I dunno... I didn't really know them that much before and it would be weird... >_<

11/02/2002: Heh, no more SATs ever again!!! It's finally over... then again, I didn't even need to take this one, so o well! :-) But no more stupid test prep! *sigh* but that also means that there's only so much more time left at Gunn... :-( ok, I don't want to think about that yet... I'll try to make the most of the time left so I won't regret as much...
