Yeah, this section is for my thoughts about stuff that happens in life not already classified in one of my other sections.
*12/24/2002: Performed the Rutter Gloria today at the Grace Lutheran Church's Christmas Eve service. I thought that it went pretty well! :-) Luckily, I was standing next to Andrew Willis-Woodward (is that his name?), who graduated last year and came back to sing with us. Anyway, he found all the pitches, so I kinda followed him. Except that he's a baritone and I'm a low bass, so there were a few times I had to go off on my own... :-/ Haha, o well. I thought in general it went really well. I didn't really like the service itself, though... :-/ Really strange... O well.
*12/23/2002: Haha. O man, tonight my dad hecka freaked me out! Ok, I was playing games on my computer, and then my dad walked into the room with this hecka serious look on his face. He holds up this envelope in one hand and says, "Justin? What's this?" Geez, I thought I was in hecka big trouble or something! :-( But then he shows me the letter. It says "Caltech" on the front. And on the backside is a red stamp that says "Congratulations!" :-) I got accepted!!! :-D :-D :-D Yay!!! :-) Well anyway, time to wait on some other colleges now. I don't actually know if I want to go to Cal Tech yet. So I guess I'll just wait and see.
*12/22/2002: O geez... I went to choir rehearsal today for the Rutter Gloria. Haha, the choir sang it last year, but Mr. Liberatore invited any guys who were "half-decent sight readers" to try to learn it. Not to flatter myself or anything, but I think I can read fairly well and I'm not really going anywhere, so I decided to give it a shot. Well... it's actually a pretty difficult song, especially compared to the other songs we've done this semester. o well. I hope it goes well! Only 2 days to learn my part! :-P
*12/21/2002: Haha, Bintang Badminton Tournament was soooooo much fun! :-)
12/18/2002: Choir/Orchestra Concert tomorrow! :-) Heh, I'm not really ready, but it should be fun and really good! So everyone come! It won't take too long and it's a minimum day the day after!!! No homework, right? :-D Haha, well please come! It will be worth it! Another thing, Michelle and I were talking with Edwin after school today, and he mentioned my low bass range (I can hit 2 D's below middle C :-P). The funny thing is, I think it actually got higher over the last two years... I remember when I was in Music Theory AP as a sophomore, I could sing 2 octaves below middle C fairly easily, but not anymore. Hm... maybe it's because I can't sing it loudly. Who knows? O well, I'm happy with my voice range! :-)
12/17/2002: What the heck!?! Ok, so today I finally get my early action letter from MIT--I got deferred. :-/ Ok, no big surprise there, at least I didn't get rejected. :-D But the messed up thing is that the letter had tape on it! =-O Months ago my mom had mentioned that it seemed that someone was opening some of my mail from the really good colleges. I hadn't thought much of it and I just remembered it now. Who the heck would open my mail!?! >:o If they wanted to know, they could always just ask me! What the friggin'... ARGH!!! It just really pisses me off that someone would be as inconsiderate and stupid to do such a thing! >:o>:o>:o Honestly, why would someone need to get to my mail and open my letters??? *sigh* O well. :-/ Hopefully whoever it is will stop it.
12/11/2002: O man! I really want to play in the Bintang Badminton Tournament!!! I haven't played in a tournament since the Chinese Tournament in August. I'm feeling pretty good about my game, too. :-) I know I still suck, but my doubles game is getting better, especially at the net (since I don't get to play at the net much during mixed). It will be fun either way and hopefully Jiaxi and I can do well! :-D But I gotta sort some things out with my parents first... they want to go up to my cousin's house on the same day. >_<
12/11/2002: Heh, I finally actually machined something for GRT! :-P I had to stay after school to try to finish my shop project with Alex Kwan. We hadn't done any of the milling. :-( Anyway, we did leveled the sides of the bases and then we cut the 45-degree angles. But we're not done yet... :-/ Gotta finish the slots for the clear glass to go into.
12/10/2002: Oh my goodness!!! It was SOOOOOOOO cute!!! ^_^ For some reason, Ms. Conoway dropped off Chloe (Mr. Dunbar's and her daughter) during G Period!!! It was soooo funny! Mr. Dunbar started carrying Chloe around and talking to her and playing with her!!! :-D It was so much fun to watch! Right now I can only recall him calling her "Danger Baby" and "flying" her around the room around the "sharp, dangerous metal objects" that came from our machine dissections! :-) Oh, it was great! You should have been there! Sooooo cute!!! :-P
12/10/2002: Well, as some of you noticed, I wasn't exactly the happiest "camper" yesterday... :-( But just to let you know, I think I've gotten that mostly straightened out... after a few embarassing stunts... >_< ergh... :-[ Anyway, thanks a bunch to everyone who tried to comfort me! I'm really thankful! :-) Hopefully it won't happen again. :-/ Sorry if I scared you, Mike! :-P
12/08/2002: wow, I'm finally done with college crapps... =-O Quite a surprise, really! I thought they'd take me forever, and, well, they did, but not as long as I thought! :-) Then again, all of my essays were crappy... :-( O well. Worse comes to worse, I'll go do a UC, which is not bad at all. *sigh* I guess the worst thing is that I really don't care. I'd be happy to go to a UC. I had so little motivation to try hard on my private college applications... not good... O well, it's done with!!! :-) Now if only my mom would stop bugging me about Princeton... :-(
12/02/2002: Something really messed up happened to me today... :-( Ok, so I stayed a little bit after school to help Michelle with math, which was cool. But then when I went to leave, guess what? My bike lock combo somehow got changed! =-O Yeah... pretty freaky. It actually is possible that I might had done it on accident in the morning when I locked my bike, but that's unlikely. :-/ I dunno, I really hope nobody did it, but then again that's almost as unlikely, 'cause someone would have had to have known my combo, which I don't think anyone did. Either that or they had too much time and started going through each combination, which is just messed up. So anyway, I get a ride home with Josh Moran, who happened to be heading home at the same time. Then my dad gets home later and I explain what happened. So we go to get my bike. Since we didn't want to go through all 10,000 lock combos, we tried a few and then gave up. So... since I don't wake up early enough to walk to school, and I'm not about to go take my dad's primary car to park on Georgia, we kinda decided to cut the lock. Heh yeah, I had to "steal" my own bike. :-P Well, it wasn't so funny... Since my family doesn't really have any good tools, we had to use a not-so-sharp hand saw... :-/ Ok, it was 1) really noisy and 2) really slow. Not good. :-( I'm pretty sure some people saw us and I'm pretty sure it looked pretty bad... I just hope no one called the cops or anything; what a mess that would be. :-( *sigh* hopefully it'll just blow over.
