So Geo & I have decided to go to Europe for two months this summer (May & June). We've bought our guide books, our hostel & student cards, we've gotten lots of advice from all our friends on where to go (& not to go as the case may be). We sent off for our passports last week. At first I was freaking out thinking I was going to have to wait 18 weeks for my application for another copy of my birth certificate to go thru. But I quickly realized that we could just send our birth certificates w/ our passport application & they will be returned when they send us our passports. As for Visas, the only place we're going to need one is for the Czech Republic to go to Prague. But we need passports first before we can apply for Visas. We're still not sure exactly where we are going to go while we're there. The plan is to start in London & finish in Amsterdam, but everywhere in b/w is still up in the air. But since the trip is only 2 months (& we wanna be able to properly see the places we do go) we'll have to choose carefully the cities we want to see. At some point we'll have to draw up a rough intinerary of cities. The next thing on the shopping list for the trip is plane tickets. Oh & backpacks!!! Hmmm...maybe I'll do that this afternoon...check out the backpacks at Trailhead :) (A little later ...) Well I went downtown today. Looked at backpacks at Trailhead, but I think I'm gonna' wait till Geo & I are in Ottawa for the first weekend in April (Gramma's bday dinner) & go to MEC instead. I think they have a better selection. But got a look at the different packs so I can think about what style I'm looking for. However, I did go & get plane ticket reservations!!! So we now have departure & arrival dates set :) So here's our flight itinerary: April 25th: Ottawa (leave at 10:15 pm) --> London (arrive 10:00 am) ... 7 hour flight.
I got a little nervous for the first time when I was actually booking the tickets. We're goin' for sure now!!!
