All State Players of Eagles Boys Soccer

The Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association (IHSSCA) is the official organization that has recognized All-State Players since 1977. The IHSSCA has recognized Sandburg athletes as All-State Players between 1986 and 2000. There is a process that member coaches of the IHSSCA follow to get recognition for their individual players. Before a game each team’s coach exchanges rating cards. An opposing team’s coach evaluates Sandburg’s players, and rates them on cards during the course of a season. The coach of Sandburg rates the players of the opposing team. At the end of a season, the players who have received enough points or cards to qualify as All-Sectional Players may become All-Sectional Players. Once they receive All-Sectional honors through a vote of IHSSCA members within a given section, they are eligible to receive All-State honors. All-State recognition is a great honor for a high school level player and his coach.
