City of Dubbo Boys Squadron

The City of Dubbo Boys Squadron was opened in 1989, and has been in operation 13 years. Since the squadrons beginning, approximately 81 cadets and 19 Officers have become part of the Australian Air League in the City of Dubbo. With a current roll strength of 12, the City of Dubbo Squadron associates itself closely to the community, providing support to the local collections by the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, as well as supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The City of Dubbo Boys Squadron currently hold squadron parades out of the Pipe Band Hall in Darling street Dubbo, the former Drill Hall, located at No1. Oval. (See Map Here) Friday night parades often include a variety of activities, including Drill and Education most nights, with other activities including Physical Activities and Modelling.

The City of Dubbo Squadron is part of the George Campbell Wing, and is accompanied by Mudgee and Coonabarabran squadrons. The picture to the right was taken at a joint Air Activities day where cadets from both Mudgee and Dubbo recieved joyflights in one of the Air League's aircraft, flown from their base at Camden to Dubbo. Air Activities play an important role within the squadron, as it allows cadets a first hand view of things from an aircraft, a practical experience to the education component undertaken in the squadron.

The City of Dubbo is currently looking for members both young and old. If you are interested in becoming a cadet or officer, of this aviation based youth organisation, email the webmaster here, and provide in it a name and contact number so that we may reply. Prospective cadets and officers are also welcome to visit parades of a Friday night, beginning at 7pm at the Pipe Band Hall, No.1 Oval.
