what is emo?
"it's kind of a stupid word,"says Chris Carraba.  Short for emotional, emo 
orginally referred to a mid-eightes style of D.C.hardcore with personal lyrics 
and an emphasis on melody.  Embrace-Ian MacKaye's band after MinorThreat-and 
Rites of Spring arguably founded the genre. Other early leading lights were 
Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate.  Weezer are too pop to be emo, say some
