Welcome to our site!

Peruse! And, come back and visit again as this site is one that will be ever changing as we receive our referrals, prepare for our trip, and travel to China for the most important journey of our lives….to become parents for the first time…or once again!

During January, February and March of 2002, Children's Bridge Groups 148 (and 147-1/2), 149 and 150 were born. Our files were sent to the China Center for Adoption Affairs and logged in officially on February 27, March 5 and March 19, 2002. With great anticipation we received our referrals for our daughters on April 1st and April 2nd, 2003! April Fool's Day...what a day to receive this marvelous news!

Our travel date was originally set for May 15th. On April 23, the WHO advised the world to consider postponing all but essential travel to Beijing in order to minimize the international spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome, aka SARS. And then near the end of April, Children's Bridge notified the families waiting to travel that it was not safe due to SARS on the mainland and that our travel plans were suspended indefinitely.

This was a difficult time for all of us as we were all in the midst of getting ready to go. We had already stared into the eyes of our beautiful daughters for more than 3 weeks…the bonding had begun. Then on May 15th it was officially announced by the CCAA that no further travel notices or referrals would be sent out until China had the travel advisory imposed on it by the WHO lifted.

Anxiously the families in our travel group waited for news. Updates were given every day by China on the status of SARS on the mainland. The WHO carefully monitored the situation. And, finally, on Tuesday, June 24th the WHO announced that it was removing its recommendation that people should postpone all but essential travel to Beijing, China. Beijing was the last area in the world to which this advice still applied. This news hit the internet around 1 AM on the 24th.

A few hours later, the CCAA changed the notice on their website to let adoptive parents around the world know that they would resume sending out travel notices to those families waiting to travel for their daughters. It was a day that we will cherish forever.

Now, almost two months later we are preparing to travel. Families will be leaving Vancouver on July 9th, 10th and 11th and landing in Shanghai, Shanghai. From there the families will go in three different directions to Anhui, Jiangsu and Jiangxi provinces where our precious daughters await our arrival.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to sign our guest book!

Red Thread Proverb
They say that when a child is born, invisible red threads reach out from the child's spirit to all the important people who will enter her life. As she grows, the threads shorten, drawing her closer to the people who love her.

When Love Takes You In
By Stephen Curtis Chapman

I know you've heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You've heard about a place called home
But there doesn't seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you're sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I Love You

And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
And this love will never let you go

There is nothing that could ever cause this love to lose its hold
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in......
