TRICKS OF THE TRADE
There are in excess
of 2000 official skipping combinations or tricks. They can
involve swinging the rope between your legs, over your head,
behind your back or even skipping on your bottom. Most moves are
identified by the inventors initials.
The Blue &
Whites have had a number of tricks initialed after their club
members.
The J.G. Circle, a
trick invented by two skippers Jaye Reed & Georgie Lord,
where one circles the other using two ropes in the Chinese Wheel
format.
Another trick, the L.S. Cross, a single rope discipline, where the rope is tucked under the arm from the front & recovered using the same hand from behind, invented by Laura Summers.
Any new combination is recorded & sent to the U.S. for verification.
