Welcome To Emperor Penguin Research [Huddling]
With the shrieking cold temperatures of the Antarctica and freezing cold winds, Emperor Penguins huddle in large, tightly packed, circular groups to keep each other warm. The penguins huddle together to share body warmth and minimize energy expenditure. Through the huddling behavior, the penguins reduce their energy loss to approximately half the energy loss of penguins standing in isolation.

During huddling, the Emperor Penguins take turns withstanding the windward side, gradually pealing off to the other sides of the group so that others can take their place. This unique method makes the group of huddling penguins slowly move downwind, keeping the warmth inside the huddle collectively warm. The comradery increases as well as the warmth, for the penguins understand the importance of acting as a group when freezing temperatures pry for death as well as survival techniques from these remarkable animals.

The amount of Emperor Penguins in a huddle can range from a group of ten to a group of hundreds of penguins. All together, the density of the penguins increases.
