Coat of Arms
In 1986 the Coat of Arms was granted by Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II.  It is an augmentation of the
orginal shield of arms adopted by Royal Warrant of King Edward VII in 1906.  Below the shield is the
Provincial motto, "Multis E Gentibus Vires", which is Latin for "From many peoples strength".  The colors
represent: Red suggests the fires that swept the prairies before the advents of civilization; Green for
luxuriant grass and other vegetation; and Gold is for fields of ripening grain.  The base is formed of
western red lilies - Saskatchewan's floral emblem.
