Newfoundland
and Labrador History
'At the turn of the century, it was a self-governing
colony playing a modest
role on the international stage; but the First World
War brought financial
burdens which exceeded the means of a small population.'
In 1949 Newfoundland and Labrador joined Canada as the
tenth
province.
The best NF site I've found is NF
GenWeb. It contains alot of
information from old newspapers to census',, just about
anything
your looking for,, its a great find. As well make sure
you check out
the Information Tidbits link.
Another great site is Newfoundland's
Grand Banks.
Here you'll find anything from census' to wills.
For a list of just the census' look at these search
results.
With these 2 sites there's no real need to look through
others but
I've listed some others below. I've tried not to find
dupicates but most likely
there are a few below that are also found in the sites
listed above.
