Shrine of the Fallen Sparrow

On July 21, 2003, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a sparrow fell victim to a tragic accident. This sparrow, hereinafter "Chris", was simply flying along, minding its own business and being a happy bird, perhaps catching a few bugs for supper, when it was mercilessly plowed down by a girl in a red Corolla. This girl, feeling deep remorse and self-disgust, has now created this shrine as a memorial to a brave fallen warrior with a beautiful but tragic life story.

Chris, we did not know you, but we are sure that we would have loved you had we gotten the chance. Your life was not ended in vain, but has gained us a new perspective on life and death in the bird world, and the horrible dangers that humans put forth. You will not be forgotten.

Feel free to leave flowers or other memorabilia here at the Shrine, to honor the memory of a fallen sparrow.
