Santosh Sivan Turns Distributor

Director Santosh Sivan has also become a distributor now. Not for every film. Sivan has only taken over the distribution rights of Ashoka in the south. Sivan has directed this film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, south superstar Ajith, Hrishitaa Bhatt and Rahul Dev.

A period drama based on the life of Ashoka, the film has been completed before time and much ahead of schedule. Thus it stands to get a good deal. Also not much money has been paid in terms of remuneration as the expenses that have been incurred are merely on production. Being Shah Rukh´s home production, the star has not charged anything for the film.

The film is definitely a good bet and that is why Sivan thought he could make better money distributing the film.
