Starry night Sansui awards rock Delhi
The stars shone down at The Sansui Viewer's Choice Award
held on Saturday in New Delhi. Shahrukh Khan bagged the Best Actor award and the
man of many words made no bones about the fact that awards make one feel nice.
"Just when I was coming up to collect my award yashji told me he was waiting for
the Mohabbatein awards and I replied I have been waiting for it for the whole
year," he said. The crowd nearly went berserk when he called a lady on stage and
made her rock with him on 'aapna bola' the Josh number. Preity Zinta won the
best actress award for Kya Kehna while Hrithik bagged the award for the best
male debut in Kaho Na Pyar Hai. The evening took Anupam Kher by surprise because
he was declared the best comedian for his performance in Mohabbatein. Amitabh
Bachchan and Mahima Chaudhary won the best supporting actor and actress awards
for their performance in Mohabbatein and Dhadkan respectively. Rajesh Khanna and
Helen bagged the Lifetime Achievement Award. When Helen was asked to speak a few
words on receiving it she said, "I don't speak with words," and gently lifting
her legs added, "I only speak with this. But even that does not work nowadays."
The audience broke into peals of laughter on hearing this. The live performances
by Shahrukh Khan, Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar and Karisma Kapoor, depicted the
four elements water, fire, earth and air and the concept had Delhites
spellbound. It was a spectacular evening.
