Barbados is a small, beautiful, island in the Caribbean. This beautiful island was discovered in 1625 and subsequently settled in 1627 by the British. We are bounded on our west coast by the Caribbean Sea and on the East Coast by the Atlantic Ocean. This small island measures ~166 square miles and supports a population of ~ 260, 000 people. Although we are known as officially known as Barbadians, we are also known as "bajans" . Because we were once a British colony, English is the language spoken here.
