I Remember that Day

Her five-year old body was lowered into her open grave, her mother and father bow their heads in a silent prayer, her brother holds back tears, as he kicks a rock--eldest of the children--, Akira cries freely as her friends try to comfort her.

Memories flash by, as the priest leaves, the people slowly follow, her family says their last good-byes, then also leave.

Love is untouched, memories return, soon as old as the day she was born, others the day she left this world and entered another.
