FIVE ANIMAL FIGHTING STRATEGIES
The five animals that are adopted by Kempo Karate are: The Tiger, Leopard, Snake, Crane and
The Tiger is single minded as he stalks his prey. His focus and concentration is unwavering while he sizes up his adversary.
Once a tiger attacks, he is fierce until either he or his prey can no longer continue. The Tiger represents - STRENGTH & TENACITY.
The Leopard's power, unlike the tense and forceful power of the Tiger, is produced from being loose and relaxed. The Leopard's attacks are noted for their speed.
The Leopard is known for his persistance. He is so persistent that he will cover long distances to get what he has set his mind on.
The Leopard represents - SPEED & AGILITY.
One of natures most cunning fighters is the Snake.
He has self-control and is very creative in his ability to size up his prey and moves in for the finish. His attacks, which are unexpected and lethal, are all targeted to
vital areas. The snake represents - RYTHMIC ENDURANCE AND ACCURACY.
The Crane is soft, patient, relaxed and well focused. It would seem that nothing could unsettle his calm, quiet demeanor.
When disturbed, however, the Crane explodes with swift, sudden power. All his techniques move in a circular fashion, creating the feeling of being
attacked from several different angles at the same time. The Crane represents - GRACE, BALANCE & BREATHING.
The Dragon moves like the wind, and flows like a fast running stream. A powerful
wind can destroy anything in it's path, and a flowing stream can flow over any obstacle placed in it's way. The Dragon represents - THE ULTIMATE FIGHTING SPIRIT & WISDOM.
I COME TO YOU WITH ONLY KARATE, EMPTY HANDS
I HAVE NO WEAPONS BUT SHOULD I BE FORCED TO DEFEND MYSELF
MY PRINCIPLES OR MY HONOR, SHOULD IT BE A MATTER OF LIFE
OR DEATH, OF RIGHT OR WRONG THEN HERE ARE MY WEAPONS, KARATE, MY EMPTY HANDS
