Here is the start of my special
budget critique page.
In the Healthcare
Highlights we find this excerpt. .

The Minister of Health will soon
announce a process to develop a plan
for sustainable and effective health care for the 21st century. <end

Not only have the NDP continued
with their, delay/put off/postpone/future thinking approach; they have
taken it one step farther!
According to my reading of the above
we can expect the Health Minister, Patch Actionson to figure out a way
to make a plan. . and soon.
Thank goodness the Honourable Minister
of Health will soon be getting around to figuring out how to make a plan
for healthcare!
I would have thought that after
9 years she might have already figured out how to make a plan!
Perhaps MLA's are not expected to
know how to make a plan?
Perhaps Louise Simard was hired
to figure out how to make a plan?
It should be easy for her, as she
is no longer an MLA.
On the other hand, having been
an MLA once upon a time, may mean that Ms. Simard will be unable to figure
out how to make a plan either!
In which case the Honorable Health
Minister will have to hire someone else to figure out how to make a plan.
If this seems confusing to you,
welcome to the club!
I have been under the impression
that the NDP had a plan already made called the "wellness model"!
I for one, would like to know if
the NDP are scrapping the wellness model, or if they are planning to make
a new plan in addition to the wellness model, or if they plan to make a
plan to modify the wellness model plan.
My plan is to keep an eye peeled
for copious amounts of this $213 million being syphoned off from Sask.
Health to the evil SHIN, instead of being directed toward front line caregivers
where the need is greatest.
Make no mistake when I say the need
is the greatest for money on the front line, as the need for reform and
renewal is the greatest in the Ministers Office and in the head offices
of the SAHO, the SHIN and in the head offices of the health districts,
in particular, the health districts that have allowed the NDP and the SAHO
to squander away countless millions on high cost, high tech, low return,
outdated equipment, including telehealth and E-MAIL!
Is there an adjective that might
describe managers and politicians who are, apparently more incompetent,
shortsighted and arrogant than one could imagine in their worst nightmare?
Stay tuned.
