Cradled in my arms I held you
Never wanting to let you go
Singing you to sleep
Watching you grow and grow
Holding your little hand
As you took your first steps
Saying your first words
These milestones I'll never forget
Getting a little more independent
With each passing day
Needing less and less of Daddy
Doing things your own way
Time to start kindergarten
You look just so grown up
I try to hold back the tears
As you get on that big yellow bus
What happened to my baby girl?
That I cradled in my arms
The same little baby
I kept safe from all harm
What happened to my little toddler?
With her little wobbly walk
The same little toddler
Who was learning how to talk
She is now my little girl
Learning how to fly
With wings of her own
Soaring across the blue sky
