Genotypes
Talmens, like Drigetti and some kinds of dragons, have genotypes. A genotype is a wrighten set of the geans that make up spacific creatures. For Talmens, there are ten different aspectes to the genotypes; head, body, legs, tail, ears, mane, wings, horn, whiskers, and mutation. The different letters in the genotypes stand for different creatures. C is cheetah, W is wolf, and P is pegesus. A capital letter stands for a dominant gean, and a lower case is resesive. Some of the different charactoristics (mane, wings, horn, whiskers, and mutation) are simply yes or no. For those, Y is yes and N is no (simple, isn't it). Here's Keron's genotype, to show you how it works.
-Keron-
Head-C,w *the cheetah gean is dominant, so his head looks like a cheetahs*
Body-W,c *in this one the wolf gean is dominant, so he has the body of a wolf*
Legs-C,p *cheetah again, are you catching on?*
Tail-C,w *another cheetah gean dominant*
Ears-W,p *and wolf again, even though it can be a little hard to tell the difference w/ the ears*
Mane-N,N *he doesn't have a mane, he doesn't even have the gean in a resesive form*
Wings-N,N *no wings either, it's the same as the mane*
Horn-N,y *he doesn't have a horn, even though he has the gean it's resesive*
Whiskers-N,y *and no whiskers, it's the same as with the horn*
Mutation-N,N *he doesn't have a mutation either, that gean is very resesive so a Talmen with a mutation is hard to find*
Now, just because the parent's of a Talmen don't have whiskers or wings doesn't mean that there offspring won't. The genetics or Talmen foals are a combination of boath of there parents. It's the dominant geans that get passed on normally, resesive geans also play there part in what the foal will look like.
