Hog Roasting By Smith Farms

Mr. Smith and roasting hog

This Site is dedicated to the loving memory of Harold Smith the official hog meister. Harold Passed away September of 2004 with his family at his side. The Smith family will continue to provide hog,beef and lamb roasting as we have since the 1960's averaging over 100 roasts annually. Harold started cooking a hog annually on the farm as a way of saying thank you to all the people and friends that had help over the year with the farming operation . Then a friend ask Harold to cook for his daughters wedding reception. The operation has now grown to 6 hand built cookers serving parties from 100 to over 1000 people.

Hogs are ordered from the locker plant stuffed with special seasoning put on rods all ready to go to your site for cooking. Cooking times on site is somewhere between 6 to 9 hours.

Sweet corn

Some extras to think about are sweet corn which can be boiled, baked beans or baked potatoes.


Smith farms have cooked for many individuals and companies including Chicago beer society,Allstate,Goose Island Brewery,National Chiropractic College,City of Elmhurst
