Craig Biggio is deffinately one of baseball's greatest players ever, even though he doesn't get the credit for it. He has more All-Star Games than the famous Mark McGwire. He can hit, field, and run. He has always been a leadr of the Houston Astros, along with the two other natural captains, Jeff Bagwell and Ken Caminiti. But Craig is deffinately the number one captain. You'll always see him talking to players, pointing out what they did wrong or what they can do to improve this or that.

Craig started his career out as an All-Star catcher. One day in the winter of 1991, former Astro manager Art Howe asked Biggio over lunch if he'd like to move from catcher to second base. Noone knew the reason for this move, but Craig said if they thought he could make this move, he'd try. It was sucessful. That season he made the All-Star team, becoming the first player in MLB history to be an All-Star at catcher and second base.

Craig was born to play baseball. He was the fastest running catcher in baseball. He's 5'11" and 180 lbs. Small for a catcher but perfect for a second baseman. When he was still a catcher, the Astros put him in center field for a series against the Mets.

"It looked like he had played that position all his life" says Larry Deirker, current coach of the Astros.

Craig also likes his private life. He could endorse every product known to man, but he turns them down. He doesn't need to show off to people through products. He does that enough on the field, but not on purpose.

All-Star facts for Craig: First and only Major Leaguer to make the All-Star Game as a second baseman and catcher ('92), hit a home run in the 6th inning to break up a no-hitter ('95), and the only player ever to be called for catcher's interference in an All-Star Game.
