SPECIES SPECIFIC INFO
These fish are well renowned for being fin nippers and a single or a pair of tiger barbs will wreak havoc in a tank. This can be solved if the fish are kept in a large group, preferably eight or more with both males and females in the group. The fish will be so busy keeping their order of status that the other species in the tank will go unnoticed.
Good filtration is necessary to keep these fish. Males are distinguished by their slightly slimmer frame and more vibrant colours than the females.
