SPECIES SPECIFIC INFO
A good fish as a tank community member due to the bright colours, peaceful nature and relatively small body size. This species is very sensitive to nitrates build-ups so the tank must be cleaned out regularly.
This fish likes tannin stained waters so a piece of bogwood used as decoration or a peat 'sandwich' in a filter will produce this effect. I recommend the bog wood though. It prefers open swimming spaces with plants and a slightly acid, soft water.
