During the past week the grim monster, death, has crept into a number of families in this locality and robbed the family circle of one or more of its members. Mr. William White, an aged and respected citizen of Scott township, died on Sunday last after an lingering illness. Mrs. David B. Wagner, of Hemlock peacefully breathed away her life at an early hour on Monday morning. From Mount Pleasant we learn of the demise of Mrs. John Wanich Jr., who was just in the prime of life. She died on Sunday after a brief illness. In Bloomsburg the hand of death has also been visible. A little child of John Snyder was claimed a victim on Saturday last. On the same day an interesting little girl of Wm. J. Correll went the way of all flesh, and to add to the sad bereavement of those sorely afflicted parents, another was called on the following day. It was really a sad sight to see the lifeless forms of two innocent children lying side by side, but when the two snow white caskets containing two little lifeless bodies were carried into the sick chamber of a fond mother for a last farewell glance, it beggard words of sympathy beyond description. Truly, “in the midst of life we are in death.”
