Daniel Gearhart, died at his home in Beaver Valley on Thursday of last week. His death came very unexpectedly. He took breakfast in the morning and died about the middle of the forenoon. He was buried on Sunday. Aged nearly 63 years.

Mrs. Alvaretta Getty, widow of Geo. Getty, died at her home in Franklin township Monday noon, following a several years’ illness with diabetes, but which assumed a serious form about Jan. 1st, compelling her to take her bed. Her husband died about six years ago. She was one of Franklin’s most respected ladies and was a native of Roaring creek valley, born near Numidia 61yearso ago last October, the daughter of Michael and Catharine Bachman Hower. She was the mother of 15 children, 12 of whom survive her: Alfred T. Getty, of Redland, Cal.; Mrs. L.C. Mensch, Catawissa; I.N. Getty, Dover, N.J.; Oliver Getty, Montour county; Morton Getty, Franklin township; Mrs. Adam Fetterolf, Catawissa township; Joseph Getty, Chicago, Ills.; Philip Getty, Riverside, and Walter, Raymond, Elias and Ivy, at home. Ten grandchildren and the following brothers and sister also survive her: Alfred E. Hower, Main township, Isaiah Hower, Franklin township and Mrs. M.L. Billeg, Numidia. The Getty family is one of the prominent families of the south side and with the exception of few years spent at Selinsgrove has always resided here. The father, George Getty, was twice married. By his first marriage he had twelve children, six of whom survive: Mrs. Mary Hower, Hummelstown, Pa.; John Getty, Fairfax, Neb.; Mrs. Wm. Yeager, Larned, Kan.; Geo. W. Getty, Franklin township; Mrs. Clara Fenstermacher, Deceased was a consistent member of St. Matthew’s E.L. church, a woman of more than ordinary executive ability, successfully conducting their large farm for a couple of years after her husband’s death, then turning it over to her son, Walter. The funeral will take place on Friday at 10 a.m., services at the home, Rev. Dr. Myers officiating. Interment in the Reformed cemetery at Numidia.

Mrs. Ira Giberson, a life long resident of Jamison City R.R., died at the home of her son, Lee at Tunkhannock at six o’clock Tuesday morning. Mrs. Gilberson apparently was in good health and was on a two week visit with her son when suddenly taken with a heart attack, her death being instantaneous. She was aged about 64 years and is survived by her husband and the following children: Lee, of Tunkhannock; Hortman, of Laceyville; Charles of Nebraska; Mrs. Joe Getz and Mrs. Charles Stetler, of Danville. Funeral services were held today at one o’clock at the St. Gabriel church with interment in the St. Gabriel cemetery.
