In Pottsville on the 4th inst, of P? Consumption, Mrs. Mary N. Bannan, wife of B. Bannon, Esq., Editor of the Miner’s Journal, in the 39th year of her age.

Star of the North, Bloomsburg, PA, Wednesday, October 28, 1857
In Bloomsburg, on Tuesday morning, 27th inst., Iddings Barkley, Esq., age about 79 years.
The deceased was for many years a Justice of the Peace in this town and served one term as County Commissioner. Both in public and private life he was respected by his fellow citizens.

Argus, Benton, Thursday, July 20, 1911
After two weeks illness from a complication of diseases, Mrs. John H. Bardo, a former Pine Summit and Millville resident died at her home in Berwick, Wednesday night of last week. She was aged 35 years and in addition to her husband and mother the following brothers and sisters survive, Arthur Lyons, who is employed at the Joseph Ratti Hospital; Orval Lyons, of Berwick; Guy Lyons, at home, and Hurley, of Sereno; Mrs. Lillian Brittain, of Berwick, Mrs. Anna Fowler, of Pine Summit and Jennie at home. Mrs. Bardo’s name was Miss Ada Lyons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Lyons, of Pine Summit. Following her marriage to Mr. Bardo, they moved to Millville where they resided until eight years ago when they went to Berwick. The funeral services were held from the house Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock and was private. Rev. C.R. Botsford pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiated and interment was made in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Catawissa News Item, Thursday, February 1, 1917
John S. Barnes, a well known resident of Catawissa township, died in the Bloomsburg hospital last Saturday night, where he was operated on the previous day. He had been sick the past three months. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon from his home at East Bloomsburg. Interment in the Union cemetery at this place. For a number of years he was employed on the Penn’s R.R. but for the past few years was employed by the trolley company. He was prominent in fraternal society work for a number of years. His age was 62 years, 5 months and 7 days. A widow and six children survive him.

A death of exceptional sadness occurred in Mt. Pleasant township when Clyde Black, 15-years-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Black, passed away at the home of his parents at eight o’clock last Thursday morning. He had been ill but eight days with pneumonia.

Just 11 days after her son, Clyde, aged 15, had passed away and with her husband critically ill, Mrs. Clarence Black, of Mount Pleasant township, near Welliversville, died at her home at six o’clock Sunday morning. Pneumonia was the cause of the deaths of Mrs. Black and her son and is the cause of Mr. Black’s illness.

died on March 1st aged 55 years. She left a husband and family. The funeral was an unusually large one. Rev. A.P. Frantz conducted the service.

Columbian, Bloomsburg, PA, Friday, Janaury 2, 1902
William Brobst
, of Berwick, who when a boy drove the mule that supplied the power for the Jackson & Woodin Manufacturing Company, died from the effects of a paralytic stroke on Friday. He has always resided in Berwick. He was born there eighty years ago. Six daughters survive.

Following a long illness from the ravages incident to old age, Mrs. Sarah Bomboy, widow of the late Benjamin Bomboy, and one of the oldest women in the county, died early Friday morning a the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Correll, near Buckhorn. She was aged 90 years on the 18th of last May.

Peter S. Brugler, a widely known and highly respected resident of Hemlock township, died Sunday at his home following an illness of a couple of years with a complication of diseases. The deceased was aged 75 years, 7 months and 15 days.
