The Cowboys

South Dakota's Original Singing Cowboys
The Cowboys and their families live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Each year they entertain thousands of guests with songs of the west in the heart of the Black Hills. The cowboys will take you back the the period in history when pioneers, cowboys and settlers blazed a trail across the prairies and mountains of the west. These songs tell of the strength, quiet faith, down-to-earth humor and tragedy faced each day as our ancestors pioneered the west. Jim Lovell, Kenny Hamm, Walt Copeland and Buddy Meredith as a group, sing very close 3-part harmony with emphasis on control and blend. They take pride in singing songs of the west and do a fine job keeping this unique musical heritage alive for the for the diverse audiences who gather each year to see them. The Cowboys have performed all over the United States and Canada at Convention Centers, and Fine Arts Centers. They have also been a guest on "Whad 'Ya Know? with Micheal Feldman. They have performed for Governors of South Dakota and many churches promoting songs of the west. Heritage Village is proud to have the level of talent with us this year at the "Jamboree".
Performing in the style of the classic chuckwagon shows the Cowboys bring back memories of times spent in the theater with the Sons of the Pioneers, Roy Rodgers and Gene Autry. You will hear songs like Tumblin' Tumbleweeds, Cool Water, Colorado and other western favorites. No visit to the Black Hills of South Dakota is complete until you spend an evening with The Cowboys.
