FREEMAN, SD~~Nicole Sikkink, 18 died Sunday June 3, 2001 at Freeman Community Hospital.
Walter Funeral Home, Freeman, is handling arrangements. Services will be 1:30 PM today June 6 at Freeman High School Elementary Gym. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, rural Centerville.
She was born March 29, 1983 at Yankton, SD to Dean and Janice Sikkink, of Freeman. She graduated from Freeman High School this year.
She is survived by her parents, Dean and Janice, one sister, Kristina Sikkink, of Freeman; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Anna Sikkink, of Centerville; maternal grandfather, Gene Pastian, of Holabird; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Alice and Don Schroeder, of Sioux Falls.
The song "One More Day" by Diamond Rio was played during Nicole's service.
Nicole graduated from Freeman High School three weeks before being killed in an auto accident at Silver Lake. She drowned when the vehicle she was riding in missed a curve, flipped and ended up upside-down in the lake. She was taken to the Freeman Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
