Death Cab For Cutie...

Wow, they were soo good live!! We weren't even gonna go to this show, but then my roommate and I decided to go all last mintute and we ended up getting lost and getting there super late, just in time for Death Cab. But, dude were they awesome!! Such a great show, i totally recommend seeing them if you ever can. They opened with their opening two songs from their new album, then played some old and some new. It was a pretty long set, cause they left and came back for an encore of three more songs.

They played like more than half of the new album, including "Steadier Footing," "A Movie Script Ending," "We Laugh Indoors," "Information Travels Faster," "Why You'd Want to Live Here" (which was cool cause they were in LA and Ben was like "don't take this personally"), "Blacking Out the Friction" (which was really awesome the way they did it, maybe my fav one they played), and that's are i remember for sure from the The Photo Album. Then old songs included: "Photobooth" (one of my favs), "Fake Frowns," "Pictures In An Exhibition," "Company Calls," "The Face That Launched 1000 Ships," and then they ended the encore with "405." There were more but i dont remember which ones.

I think the best part was Ben's singing and facial expressions when singing. His voice sounded totally amazing live, i think better than it sounds recorded, and when he would hit the higher notes he would strain his face all passionately. He was so into the singing, when he wasnt playing, or even sometimes when he was, he would sing with his eyes closed with these expressions on his face, he was so freakin awesome! and then the guitarist Chris was sick and had no voice, so he couldnt do the backup vocals and he would talk between songs with his voice all scratchy. that was so awesome that he played the show sick, what a dedicated band! yeah they were awesome, i am totally glad i got to see them. oh and jennee and i took some pics with her camera, so hopefully they turn out and then i'll post them up here on my site.
