These photos were taken in 1944 - at my grandparents' (Martins and Anlize Vanags) farm. Before we
left Latvia, much of our precious metals such as silver table services, dishes, jewelry, etc. were placed
under ground on the farm. Both families had intentions of returning in a year or two after the war - little
did they know that they would never return.
The first photo is of cousins Guntis and Irisa along with grandparents Anlize and Martins Vanags.
In the second photo Guntis is pushing Irisa on her tricycle on the farm.
The last picture is of the two Vanags brothers, with grandfather Martins being on the right.
