RED DRESS RUN UPDATE from Radar
Hi one and all....Please read attached from the Salvos..
Another frenetic "Red Dress Run " over,!!!
Id like to thank Wopa for all of his enthusiasm ....My able assistants ....Verbal D , Mussels and Bedpan .......Many thanks to "Santa Spermwale " ,happy helpers.. Anchovy and Archives
Not sure who else was at the Drink stop!!!
We had a great roll up with Red Dresses scattered all over the valley .... Probably just on 200 runner;s with a good roll up of Non Hash runners who had a ball..
Well it seems that most paid their run fees as we collected just on $1500 which was a HUGE effort..... If any one has some (kind) remarks and the usual criticism most welcome..
I know every year the pubs promise the world and deliver------- and the circle is a mess with so many people ..Thats life!!
So "Thanks 'again to all who supported this fun event and it will be back Bigger and Better on the 13th DEC 2010.
On On Radar
From Salvos …
Dear Radar and Wopa,
Thank you so much for your club's wonderful fund raising efforts on behalf of The Salvation Army's Christmas Appeal. The Red Dress Run raised $1500.50! It sounds like everyone had a great time and many people will benefit from your generosity this Christmas. As you can imagine, with the wide spread economic problems, a greater number of people than ever are asking for assistance this year. We greatly appreciate the funds raised by the Brisbane Hash House Harriers and hope all of you will have a very special Christmas full of God's blessings.
Regards,
Run 1665 - 07-12-09 – 38 Benjul Drive, Beenleigh
HARES - Bloodsucker, Swinger and G-String
Ginger nuts and I set off early from the city of Brisbane to give ourselves plenty of time to make it to the outskirts of the Gold Coast. We still got stuck in traffic but we were not on our own some idiot had had a major accident further down the track and it made it difficult for every one.
Still in the end there were 27 Harriett’s ready to do battle with the hot and sticky weather and the no hills run. There were lots of houses covered in fairy lights to help make the run interesting. I am sure I missed plenty as usual I with a few friends happened to find a short cut.
Gum nut was busy giving Ernie and Bloodsucker some hints on how to improve their lovely garden. Scooter has returned to the fold now she has her life back after working hard for a few years owning and running their newsagent store. News from Saturday was that the band at the Melbourne Hotel was fantastic and they were happy to play requests for the girls from as early as 5.30pm which would be when some of the girls arrived there. Swizzlay when told to put her shoes on did as she was told – but Lamp Chop it seemed needed some not so gentle persuading by lovely patient Darby to keep her shoes on.
Bloodsucker had 2 pairs of men’s undies for sale, and a job opportunity from her brother for any Harriette interested.
Wowsa is a granny again Long Time Coming had a labour for (I think 6 days) on and off but in the end delivered a lovely little girl (Matilda Rose) same name as one of granny Teasers grand daughters. G String had extra towels (the same as Saturdays) for sale @ $5.00 a pop and they soon sold out. We wished Syndrome Happy Birthday even though she is in Melbourne at the moment.
Anniversaries
Crutchless – 200 runs (got her name because she used to make knickers for Strippers – I don’t think any thing else needs to be said)
Eveready – 400 runs (got her name because her surname is Marshall and we already had a Holler for)
We had the best supper - Ernie made a great Pea and Ham soup - delicious followed by Ham, potato and Vietnamese salads and then to finish mince Tarts – really good. Our great and glorious was heard to say that the food was great but the run was MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. We did all come back a little hot and bothered but that was forgotten with such great food.
GM thanked her committee for a great Christmas lunch – we all agreed that they had chosen a good venue – the food was not to everyone’s liking but who cares we all thought the afternoon was great – the Harriett’s thanked the committee.
Hon Sec asked that for the Red Dress Run every one bring some money - $5.00 donation to the Salvation Army and some $2.00 for the Raffle – the raffle will be about 50 tickets @ $2.00 there will be one winner after 50 tickets are sold and the one winner will get $50.00 the other $50.00 will go to the Salvation Army and the next raffle will start.

Thank you to the Hares it was a great night - every one in a hurry to leave as it was a long drive home.
On On Queenie
Run 1660 - 02 November 2009 – Ashgrove Melbourne Cup Run
HARES - Ginger Nuts, Teaser, Pith Head
This year the course was around St John’s Wood from the members enclosure in Royal Parade.
Several harriettes have returned from long absences, Big Foot had 4 weeks in S.America, Stalker 6 weeks in Europe and Stirling after 4 weeks with no excuse.
The event got underway with Honest Barry the Bookie (aka Mr Ginger-Nuts) taking our cash for the sweeps and I hope he allocated the runners (not personally having heard anything since!!!)
The real runners, the Harriettes had some problems at the starting gates wondering which way to run round the course, but once we set off the going was good. It was a fine night and very few hills, just the STEPS, but everyone negotiated the hazards, no-one went over the rails and we all ended up back in the grazing paddock for very elegantly presented horses doovers and champagne.
Take-Away took her drink and promptly dropped it all over her feet so Gumnut gave her the nibblies to carry round; that was a risky bet.
The t-shirt parade was judged by the hares (Ginger Nut, Teaser and Pithy) and was won by a neck by Windjammer. Runner-up Bloodsucker was showing her schizophrenia being a jockey from the front and a punter from the back. Commendations went to Eveready who was totally confused by the instructions about no fancy hats and came as the horse itself.
Windjammer and Bloody then competed to ride on Eveready, not sure who came off best there.
Supper was served,. Spicy Pumpkin Salad and cold meat, again very nice thank you hares.
Raffles were won by TartA and Mussels.
There was a scarcity of gossip, everyone very tight-lipped for a change but I did hear that Flower and Gumnut had a great time in their usual style at Lila’s birthday party recently. Keep it up Flower.
Gunna’s eye is recovering nicely from the op. so there was a suggestion of a NAME-CHANGE to Little Bright Eyes.
Rags wants everyone to know that there are some Green singlets left and several pairs of VERY small shorts that would make good Xmas pressies for very SMALL bottoms.
Also a gorgeous satin Red Dress size 12 going cheap ($50) if anyone needs one for the RD run (or a NY party) – see G-String. Gumnut thought it might be suitable for Lay-By! Who’s she?
The evening finished with a serving of Austrian Coffee cake.
Sad note: Dribbler lost her father last week so we all send best wishes to her and her family.
On on Stalker
Run 1659 - 26 October 2009 – 36 Marieander St – Tarragindi
HARES - CS, Porno, Pispot , with assistance from Craig & Matt
Well, they predicted rain, and we got rain, which obviously put a lot of Harriettes off due to the number who attended.
As always, the girls had gone to a lot of trouble decorating not only the garage, but themselves as well. They were all dressed up as Red Devils, complete with painted red faces with black markings. Even Craig was part of the team and Matt was wearing an ugly mask. They all looked great. G-String was strutting her stuff in a sexy little number, showing off her boobs and looking like a fortune teller with her lace mantilla and holding an illuminated purple fluro skeletons head, it was spooky!!! Bloodsucker was sporting a purple/black lacy top, also showing off some breasts, and wearing black tights with fluro skeletons heads on them, so I’m told. She also said that after putting on all her make-up that Ernie didn’t even notice! MEN! Pithy had the longest nails I have ever seen, but they made handling the money difficult and picking her nose was not that easy ‘cause the nails were rubber. All Harriettes who attended looked great and participated in the fun of the night. Eveready wasn’t able to dress up because she had lent her Halloween gear to her granddaughter who hasn’t returned it. Speaking of grandchildren Teaser is going to be a Granny again, her son and D-I-L are expecting another bairn next year. Congratulations!
There was much discussion as to whether to run/walk or not. The run, which was marked on Sunday with the assistance of Porno’s son Matt (what a boy), had been washed out earlier in the day. A few of us were definitely NOT going out in the rain, thunder and lightning, but about eight brave Warriorettes took off after getting some directions from the Hares and being led by Pithy. No sooner had they left than they returned looking like drowned rats, saying that the rain just got heavier and heavier. I reckon they were out there for about 15 minutes TOPS. (I think the weather actually adds to the night, but you have to feel for the Hares, it seems to rain every time they have this run!)
The remainder of the troopers stayed to keep the Hares company and boost the coffers of the PAO’s kitty.
Gumnut decided that seeing we had some time on our hands, we should play games, the first being Harriettes Trivia:
Q1: What is Archives husbands Hash name?
A: Anchovy
Q2: What Hash man has Stirling slept with?
A: Wouldn’t it be easier to name the ones she HASN’T slept with (joke) Real Answer: None of them
Q3: Which Hash man did McSquat go out with?
A: Monty
Q4: What Hash man did Lungs go out with?
A: Waste Of Time, and she said “What a waste of time that was!!”
Q5: Name the four Harriettes life members
A: Archives, Krypton, Chips and Dribbler
Q6: Name the most recent Harriette
A: Holy Smoke (I can’t recall her!)
Nibbles were then brought out, parmesan crisps, cheesy puffs, asparagus frittata, little meaty balls with a chilli dipping sauce and lots of lovely pineapple and watermelon.
Next game: put a lolly snake in your mouth and tie it into a knot with your tongue, no hands/fingers allowed. We were shown by CS that this could actually be done. And it was, by Dribbler, and for her efforts she won a plate containing a fake finger, eye and ear. NOICE!
Then we had the grand parade/photo of all the dressed up Harriettes. It was a tied win between G-String (winning a Halloween wine goblet) and Bloodsucker (a Halloween drinking cup and straw)
Next game: eat the dangling donut – NO HANDS ALLOWED – participants were Pithy, Lungs, Gumnut, Harry, Chips – and the winner was Pithy who received a bag of Halloween goodies, eyeball ring, eyeball, wind-up walking mummy and a big snake.
Lovely to see two late comers, Bedpan and R2D2, who arrived just in time for dinner which was rice with a choice of Chilli Con Carne or Savoury Mince complete with corn chips.
Dessert was wobbly brain jelly and ice-cream. Eveready couldn’t eat part of her brain (which I think was only passionfruit!) said it made her feel sick and Bloodsucker doesn’t like red jelly so she missed out.
I heard Gumnut telling a funny story. She was doing a landscaping job and the lady asked her to move a big box, which was very heavy. When she bent over to move it, she was wind assisted with a big FART. What a woman! I just hope her client wasn’t standing behind her!
Pithy went all soft and she squealed when she touched a PRETEND gecko on the toilet door handle, big sook!
Down Downs:
Hares – CS, Porno & Pispot Extra Hares – Craig & Matt
Bedpan & R2D2 for a surprise appearance. Bedpan said she is only going to be a visitor now.
Raffles: Cox2 – “Nipples on Fire” on a bra (you had to be there, although she said she would wear it to the Red Dress run)-R2D2 – Glass dish Pispot – Hanging glass vase
And that’s all. It was a great night with lots of laughs and the games were a great idea.
ON ON – Gingernuts
Run 1658 - 19 October 2009 – 6139 Bolsena Circuit HOPE ISLAND,Sanctuary Cove
HARES - Chips, Swinger
5pm sharp was the call from Pussy to visit her new ‘abode’ at Sanctuary Cove before our run from Chip’s new ‘abode’.
Takeaway and myself were the first starters & then we were joined by Flower, Eveready & Teaser. We then formed a convoy to Pussy’s place & we were greeted and wined and dined by Pussy’s other half – Bob – what a great way to start a hash run.
We then all drove to Chip’s & I was then pulled down a peg or two when asked or maybe told to write the run report.
A big welcome back to Takeaway who has been O/S and then who should walk in BUT Scooter – who has not run Hash since 2004. She has since sold the newsagency & maybe once again will become a regular.
On On was called at approx. 6.35pm awaiting any late comers namely Porno, CS and Pispot and we were off to discover the wonders of Hope Is.
We were warned about the iceblock stop and we eagerly strode towards the iceblocks.
Uranus, G-String and Flower took the lead running away from us and leading us astray.
At one CB, onon was called by Pussy and we were off around the lake and over the bridge and before we knew it we were home.
Poor ‘Batesy’ was waiting at the iceblock stop but no-one found him.
We all straggled in at various times, all with different versions of where we had been!!
Archives, Spinifex, Emmanuelle, Farkarwe, Mussels, Wowsa – we think they may have found the entire run but alas – the iceblock man had given up and come home – sorry, Gary – sorry girls.
A great nosh of nibbles & burgers were eagerly and quickly consumed.
Thanks to the hares – Chips & Swinger- for a great night – very enjoyable.
Raffles were won by Takeaway & Chips.

Run 1657 - 05 October 2009 – 16 Hobbs St, AUCHENFLOWER
HARES - Krypton, Archives, Mussels
Finally after getting a few minutes to myself I remembered that I haven't written the run report - slack ass.
We all gathered at Krypton's place for the start of our run, 7km run/walk that is.
Nice to see all our travellers back as well as those who haven't graced us with their presence for awhile.
Sounds like all our travellers had a wonderful time - Ginger Nuts from Europe, Queenie - Cairns, Tarta - USA, Windjammer - Sydney - who was at the Masters (Older people games) and Zero but I didn't get where she has returned from. Sorry.
We're calling this run the BRIDGE AND STAIRS RUN. It was a great walk to start off with but, ( those who did the lot without short cutting) we certainly felt it towards the end.
Went along the new bridge to start with - something gathering from all the talk- that no-one had done yet. There was a wide variety of opinions on it. Most being that people didn't like it and it was very ugly, I agree. Heading up one part not sure where it was we heard one hell of a loud scream. A rat jumped out - as they do - to attack Chips and Windjammer. Later we saw a large, very large cockroach that the comment was made you could surf on that one.
The walk went along the river, down to South Brisbane past GOMA, through the Barracks with the cafes and picture theatre - I've never been there so there were certainly a lot of 1st for me. Down past Suncorp and the on home. In our little group there was plenty of talk about funerals, coffins, how we wanted to be buried which then lead onto animals dying and funerals. Bet you all wish you were in our group. Know now why I like coming to hash for the interesting discussions.
We made it back, some a little sorer but enjoying the thought of a drink - if we had of had a penny or two on us we might have stopped off at the barracks for a quick one - beer that is.
All in all a fantastic run.
The nosh was - Mexican dip, cheese, kabana then salad, snags and rolls Yummy dressing some were even seen licking their plates & choc biscuits made by G-STRING's daughter - Thank You they were yummy.
On the matter of nosh rumour has it that is why RAWHIDE was there, she came straight from the flight from Melbourne where she did the Melbourne Marathon, as she had no food in the fridge. I'm sure that's not true she just enjoys our company and thought she might be in for a down down.
A quote straight from PUSSY's mouth - I don't have shit in my prizes. Apparently BLOODY couldn't understand why she didn't get a ticket as a receipt for the raffle.
Joke by BLOODY - HA!!!! HA!!!!
Down Downs: RAWHIDE - Melbourne Marathon 4 hours 30 minutes - well done.
URANUS - 350TH - Rebel Sports Voucher
G STRING - 400th - Stool
HARES: KRYPTON, MUSSELS & ARCHIVES.
Big thanks to PUSSY for the raffle - WINNERS;- Basket of goodies - DRIBBLE, ZERO, COX 2 & Bottle of wine - PISPOT.
Great night had by all. ON ON PISPOT
Run 1655 - 28 September 2009 – Alderley Ave, Alderley
HARES - Flower & Teaser
We arrived at Flower’s house on a very cold and windy night. In dribs and drabs we gingerly tackled the long steep driveway with much caution. To then arrive on the deck where there was lots of chitter chatter amongst the hares. 28 hares set off into the heights of Alderley through streets bushes and pathways. The view from the top of the hill was spectacular as you could see all the lights of the City and surrounds. It was a long but good walk but on several occasions we were struggling to get on track but at least it kept the pack together. I believe Krypton and G-string got lost so I’m not quite sure how they arrived back. Not as many hills as usual but of course the last hill was the final tester with the winds nearly blowing us back down the hill. Everybody rugged up and enjoyed dips and nibbles and later the spicy meatballs with rice – very tasty.
Double Fault was busily getting make-up lessons from Stirling for the coming wedding of her son this week-end. Congrats and all the best to the Bride and Groom.
Pussy was busily chewing on nuts so she had to remember to take her teeth out beforehand.
Apparently Harry was talking to McSwat during a walk at Kangaroo Point at the week-end to find out that McSwat turned up at Jerrys’s place last week for the run. Whoops you had better read the hash reports for the correct future venues.
There was a special presentation given to Pussy as she has just recently purchased at Sanctuary Cove. She was awarded with a pussy shower cap and a devine black and white fluffy pussy which should make all the Sanctuary Coveites envious. We are awaiting a special invite so we can show the locals a bit of hash entertainment.
DOWN DOWNS: Welcome to Square Bear from Bayside
ANNIVERSARY: High Time – 150 runs – well done
The Venue for our Christmas Party on the 5th December is the Tibetan Kitchen at West End. Apparently there is a strip joint somewhere near so that could be a bit of a worry!!
RAFFLES were won by Cox 2 (Bottle of wine), Gunna (Bottle of wine) and Rash (not sure).
Another great night was enjoyed by all and thanks to the Hares, Flower and Tease,r who lastly supplied us with tasty lollies.
There was a little serenading at the end of the night as Dribbler, Pith Head and Knockout rehearsed for their upcoming rendition of Mamma Mia for Headjob’s 40th birthday on Saturday night.
ON ON JANGLES
Run 1653 - 14 September 2009 – 27 Kilmaine St, The Gap
HARES - Gumnut, Uranus, Bonka
Arrived at Gumnut’s place well in time due to Lambchop’s speedy driving. Were greeted on arrival by Gumnut’s mum who assured RASH that she still looks sweet and beautiful. Rash was happy to hear it even though she has never met her before. (unfortunately Gumnut’s mother suffers from Dementia ) We had a nice walk around Gap area, perfect weather, no-one got lost and no-one fell ( eventhough there were some dark tricky spots on the trail)
Enjoyed exellent snacks and tasty chicken with potatoes and salad + birthday cake and lollies.
BIG HURRAY to Hash-members: DRIBBLER, PITHY, RAWHIDE, FLUSH, ARDUOS and TREACHEROUS who took part in 30 km Trail-Run at Glasshouse Mountains on Sunday. 30 KM what an effort......
There was a lot of excitement in the air with 12 Hash-girls who are going to Norfolk Island with Pussy on Thursday. Hope they have a good time.
Anniversaries: COCKS2 150 Runs; PASTIES 700 Runs (member since 1982)
Birthdays: LUNGS, DRIBBLER and HI TIME

Run 1650 - 24 August 2009 – 18 Hawthorn Tce, Red Hill
HARES - (Committee) GUMNUT, EVEREADY,MUSSELS &G-STRING B.H.H.H.Anniversary Run
Held at GUNNA’S home at Red Hill on a very hot, for August, night. Told no hills again and with a name like Red Hill every one believed it!!not. Actually the hills were not that bad and some of the city lights magical . HIGHTIME & STALKER both tripped, fell( or got pushed) and ended up with ankle injuries. Back to GUNNA’S after a well signed or arrowed walk to lovely dips followed by two types of curries, rice, bread, salad and sweet potatoes Yum-O. To follow was an orange cake baked by G-STRING
News, Gossip & Crap
PITHHEAD the birthday girl was conspicuous by her absence, probably shagged to death as a birthday present so couldn’t walk. Hope the party went well for you PITHY! MUSSELS is to be a mother in law, daughters getting married so she’s quite excited.
GRANNY MAY’s Golden wedding anniversary is this week end, you don’t get 50 years for murder these days Well done. GRAN & SPERM WHALE have a lovely celebration. ARCHIVES was a bit seedy and had a husky voice, PORNOS heard from TRASHEE in Adelaide , the pool is underway but not the house and the weather is a bit blowy but she loves it all so far. A new walker tonight bought in by GUMNUT, Pam welcome to you. Apparently our new jerseys are under way and committee members have checked them for sizes. A few weeks off until delivery. WOWSA had a cotton hanging down her leg so FLOWER pulled it, thought it might have been a tampax.
Raffles ( 4 of them ) won by JANGLES, WINDJAMMER,DARBY & HARRY
Down Downs for the 5 hares and one for STALKER and HIGHTIME for falling over.
Approx 37 at the run tonight GUMNUT complained half her committee was away either sick, hung over or (PUSSY??) pleasuring their husbands.
Good run, good nosh and not bad company as well. Thank you Hares
On On SWINGER
Run 1649 - 17 August 2009 – 7 Rocklily Court Shailer Park
HARES - Windjammer, Bloodsucker, Swinger
As Swinger, Pussy and I drove north up the M1 towards Shailer Park we could see the lightning display and said, “It looks like the rain might be up north of Brisbane”. Just as well we aren’t employed by the Bureau of Meteorology as we no sooner arrived at Windjammer’s place and down came the rain. Windjammer was very concerned as she had spent a lot of time marking the run.
I’m not sure, but about thirty girls left Rocklily Court at 6.30pm and wouldn’t you know it, the rain had stopped! “Follow the arrows and there aren’t any regroups or check backs” was the departing comment. An hour and 10 minutes later I knew why there weren’t any stops. A few girls were heard saying “It was the hilliest run we have had in years”….well done Windjammer. We did have one fall, but I was told that Teaser was okay and didn’t put any holes in the knees of her tights. She obviously fell very gracefully!I won’t go into details as to where we went during our run/walk but it was pleasant and we saw lots of lovely homes but the f*****g hills nearly killed us!
Enough said…… we arrived back and were treated with delicious dips and fruit. Followed by Swinger’s secret recipe of huge potatoes with a choice of mince or veg sauce topped with sour cream and cheese………yummy! Windjammer’s Mum Scully made some trifles for dessert which went down a treat followed by the traditional lollies. All in all a lovely night, thanks Hares.
Gingernuts and hubby (Barry) will become grandparents, congratulations.
Rash loved sharing her stories of her stay at “Secrets on the Lake”. She highly recommends this place for a total pamper and get away from it all!
Swisslay’s shoulder is now 100% or nearly fixed which is great news.
Uranus’ daughter is buying her first home, which kept Uranus glued to the mobile all night.
Some of the girls were wearing blue t-shirts which Waste of Time had given them showing the 7 marathons he had completed in 7 continents. No wonder Flush hardly ever sees him these days!
Louise, Granny May’s daughter in law, graced us with her presence. Hopefully she will come back and join us permanently.
Raffles: won by Wowsa – some perfume and hand lotion (nice one).
Anniversary run: Dribbler celebrated her 1050 run. She received a bottle of Penfolds Grange for her dedication to Hash. Fantastic effort!
Birthdays: Flower celebrated entering her 60th year, which means she turned 59.
Gumnut entertained us with here stories about sailing……..not being a boatie I was t bit at sea with all of it. However I did hear her say she enjoyed the time with Bruce(Flower’s hubby)…….hummmmm. Great night thanks again Hares………….see you all next week.

Run 1647 - 03 August 2009 – 6 Ashbolt Street, Wooloowin
HARES - Hi Time, Cottonballs, Swisslay
Thirty-two Harriettes arrived at Hi Times place. We all set off around the suburbs first and then down to Kalinga Park. Not too much gossip going on at this stage that will come later. We caught up with the 3 Musketeers (Porno,Cunning Stunts and Pisspot) who got lost and came late, Cunning Stunts was heard to have said "that driver in front did't have his arrow on for turning." Hope Porno is feeling better today as she hurt her back while walking.
The run was well marked with lots of check backs. Mussels was supposed to run 2 ks then walk but the spies that were out said that she ran at least 4ks, see Mussels you can't get away with anything.
We arrived back at Hi Time’s for some yummy nosh - lots of dips and fresh fruit and Red Thai Curry and Pork Stir fry which was absolutely delicious.
Flower has just renewed her drivers licence she told me she will be 64 when she next has to renew it and would you believe her raffle ticket was 64 as well. Not only is Wowsa a SCB BUT WHILST SHE WAS LOOKING AT ONE OF THE PHOTO ALBUMS SHE BROKE IT.
Krypton has fractured her metatarsil and it is rumoured that she fell off a young man.(Lucky her hey Pithead).
Down Downs were for Zero 900 runs, well done Zero and Double Fault 200 runs. Raffles were won by Pispot and Granny May.
Eveready has 3 puppies left so if you know anyone who wants one just let Eveready know.
Archives would like to know who is going to the Interhash next year as they are arranging accommodation so they need to know numbers.
Thanks again to the hares for a great night and fabulous nosh.

Run 1642 - 29 JUNE 2009 – Malcolm St., Hawthorne
HARES - Archives, Emmanuelle, Zero
BRING A CAN NIGHT Archives advised us to enjoy the walk and admire the views. I did both.
A good hike around her area, with stunning and spectacular views of our beautiful city, and Story Bridge.
Flush did a bit of schmoozing asking the brand new GM if she was ok, and enquired if the pressure of the job wasn’t too much. Can’t imagine what she thinks she can possibly gain with all that greasing up to authority like that.
The amazons at the front of the pack, namely Chippie, Teaser, Ginge, Windjammer & Dribs kept up a blistering pace along with the writer.
Pussy is touting for a trip to Norfolk, where her daughter is working, possibly mid November, but date is open at present. It seems a good thought to have an insider (who is really an outsider) on the island. A win in OZ lotto tonight would ensure my trip to Norfolk, so wish me luck.
Queenie and Syndrome were both honoured and revered for having finished work. I know that Queenie gave the longest notice in history, but congratulations to them both. I want that job too. Syndrome is celebrating with a RICH BITCHES LUNCH her place Wed.
Crikey it was cold when we got back in to Malcolm St, with everyone running back inside for jackets after they had plundered the dip table. The can mix was great with someone having entered something really quite hot, which spiced it up. Great on a cold night. Dessert was a special effort, with canned fruit and marshmallows, and custard. Archives brought out the biggest box of Guylian Chocolates in captivity (a gift from a student at Xmas) I am in awe of her self control. 29 June and unopened.
Teaser put her voucher for her 350th towards a very flash pair of running pants. Great reflection and along with her jacket, she looked like something from Halloween Night from behind. Nice to see the new committee slotting into their roles so easily. Gumnut trying to be heard over unruly rabble who won’t hush for announcements,( Girls give your GM a break) Pithy reeling in the $$$$, Pussy giving away raffles, Eveready peddling the grog, and Doublefault flashing away relentlessly.
Raffles won by Zero, a cuddly looking tracksuit which will become her camping PJ’s and Teaser was delighted with an Il Divo CD who are her favourite tenors. Bloody told us a good origin joke, followed by another from Gingernuts.
On On Flower
Run 1641 - 22 JUNE 2009 –Goodwin St., Kangaroo Point
HARES - Pussy Galore and Psycho
Welcome to the new committee, what a night to commence your term in office.
Of the 18 harriettes (+ one apprentice, Rachel) who turned up for Pussy and Psycho’s run, of which Pussy advised us she had set 3 times, but every one had been washed out, only 7 harriettes were brave enough to face the treacherous conditions, donning ponchos, raincoats, caps and umbrellas. Mussels and Uranus took off running, while Stalker, Flower, Hi-Time, G-String and Myself all waddled off “Merrily” up the hill from Goodwin Street, under the Story Bridge (nice and dry), heading toward the river, along the river to Captain Burke Park (the original venue) once around the park, back up Main Street, past the pub and back to the warmth of the conference room at Macleay Tower. Our new Hash Flash, Double Fault was ready and waiting to take photos of all the drowned rats as we returned. We had a couple of late comers, in Krypton and Emmanuel arriving after the event, nice one girls.
We had the usual yummy fruit and dips followed by noodle boxes, filled with either a risotto or pasta delicacy. Everybody suggested Pussy put her recipe in the Hash Trash.
After the roll call our new GM Gumnut thanked everybody for their attendance to the changeover function on Saturday and we all gave 3 cheers to the old Committee for having such a successful day and year and also for handing over $2,800 to the new Committee, as they had had a very tight year, well done girls.
Gumnut advised us that she was going to organize a “suggestion” box for this committee’s term. Cunning Stunts wanted to know who’s box we would be using.
The T/shirt flower was awarded on Saturday was from a box of leftovers she had collected and passed on to Hi-Time, and when she wore it to bed that evening it fell to bits. Hope I got that story right Flower, so much laughing at the time.
The raffles were won by Pithy – ½ dozen shooter glasses and a shooter recipe book, (perfect)
And Double Fault – Coffee/Tea mug and fridge magnet.
Down Downs for the Hares – well done.

Run 1640 - 15th JUNE 2009 – TARIGINDI
HARES –THE THREE STOOGES
Pispot, Cunning Stunts and Porno
Well what a turn up.................about 40 harriettes were there rather
keen for a run/walk on such a cool night. Great to see so many girls for
the old committee's last run of the year.
Almost everyone remembered their books, for the swap that is! We
weren't too sure how this was to happen but as the night wore on it was
finally explained. You put a book on the table and take one back. The
hares really didn't want to start their own library at the end of the night!
Along a couple of bike paths and finally a turn back towards home!
Gumnut and I were pressed to keep up with the long legs of Teaser and Ginger
Nuts but we did okay for a while, soon to be over taken by none other then
Pithy. Well let's face it she is training for the Golf Coast marathon
and we aren't!
We finally got back home at exactly 7.30pm, however I was concerned about
the slower walkers as they were no where to be seen. All in all a very
well marked run considering that the hares had to re-do it because of the
storm in the afternoon
Nosh was home made sausage rolls and sao with cheese and tomatoes.
Different but really tasty. This was followed by a chaoice of two
home made soups served with crusty bread. And of course brownies with
popcorn...........yummy!
Good run/walk and good nosh, thank you Hares - Pispot, Cunning Stunts and
Porno
Celebrations for the birthday girls Jerry, Eveready & O.S - down down for the hares..............thank you.
Swisslay would like to thank all the girls for their kind thoughts and card
for her speedy recovery of a fractured shoulder
Double Fault is celebrating the arrival of her "First" grandchild, he will
call her Nana Rosa, really cute!

Run 1639 - 08/06/09 8st JUNE 2009 – PINEAPPLE HOTEL
HARES – Nobody and Everybody
A small but dedicated group turned up at the Pineapple Hotel on the Monday of the long weekend – someone’s birthday they say, but thanks for the day off!!
FLOWER, TEASER, EVERREADY, MUSSELS, KRYPTON, FLUSH, RAWHIDE, EMMANUELLE, ARCHIVES, HITIME and BIGFOOT. Eleven, that’s not bad.
We set off and did a tried and tested walk or run (Flush and Rawhide) that took us up to the heights near the Gazebo and then down the steps and path and around the river, back up past the Storey Bridge Hotel and home. Mussels unfortunately went home – hope you are feeling better, and Emmanuelle, Krypton and Archives turned for home early – hope Emmanuelle’s back and Krypton’s feet are better too. The rest of us had a good time – it was a lovely night.
Back at the hotel - we may have been small in number but there were plenty of others out dining, both in the steakhouse and in the bistro where we went. In fact, within minutes of our arrival the church group in the bistro up and left – was it something we said???
Some pizza nosh, catching up on Rawhide’s trip to Turkey and Flush’s dilemmas with school subjects and kid’s careers.
A very pleasant evening, thank you girls.

Hares: Queenie & Gumnut
Even though it seemed weather wise it was going to be a cold and rainy night
it didn't appear to deter many harriettes...Before setting out GUMNUT wanted
to share her setting of the run with us all and was worried it was washed
out... we did see the hashmen on our way there so we also thought that we
might double up on mens run ... QUEENIE had other ideas to simplify it and
to go the other way and along the river....so us being harriettes no one
could make a decision and so some went south and some went north....I went
south....with about 20 others....Not much to tell on the run except it was
mostly flat and lots of lovely homes along the river to check out......poor
ZERO collided with the pavement and sprained her ankle...luckily JERRY was
nearby to give support and was going to head back and pick up the car to
help out but didn't know where she was so they hovered back together slowly
instead.....we wound up and around the river and then turned around and
headed home...always great just to come along and do a bit........URANUS and
MUSSELLS jogged to the new tennis centre and back which was a terrific
effort.....news had it that the harriettes that went north went down and
around and over the bridge and up a couple of hills and back again....sorry
GUMNUT for all your effort but the weather seems to turn us all into sugar
fairies........maybe next time.....Once back home it was down to
business....lots of lovely dips, array of fresh fruit etc. to nibble on to
go with the chatter around the table....
PITHEAD and DRIBBLER were recuperating after their 30 km glasshouse mountain
jaunt on Sunday... good effort....apparently it is every 3 months if you're
interested in running or walking it ...go to website
http://www.glasshousetrail.com>
FLOWER's
friend ROBYN was visiting for the night from NZ......hope you enjoyed our
friendship....LAMB CHOP was featuring bruises and scratch marks on both
sides of her face...with some lame story that she tripped over her dressing
gown in the middle of the night and no she hadn't been
drinking......CRUTCHLESS is getting excited about her upcoming trip to
Finland in 3 weeks...hope she has better luck with love this
trip....ARCHIVES never ended up having the Tupperware party unfortunately
her cat "Zac" had a brain bleed last week but is on the road to recovery
now...so save your money up till next time we know your dying to buy some
more Tupperware........Roll call was done .....all accounted for and
present......JANGLES was awarded her 200 runs - Voucher for Rebel
Sport...boy how time flies....photos taken and she was thrilled by her
gift....BLOODSUCKER missed out on her birthday down down as she is in Cairns
and we all missed out on her weekly joke....however a few harriettes gave us
there best shot and yes we all laughed... good on yer girls....not like
PUSSY's friends at her high tea when she told her joke...just for the
record....we loved it PUSSY........QUEENIE went to a lot of trouble with the
tucker - making chicken and vegetarian curries which were delicious and what
the doctor ordered for a damp night........followed by lots of
lollies.....PUSSY was holding back till the end for her tucker announcing
she had taken her teeth plates out and for no one to chuck them out this
week like they did last week.....she had to rush and visit TARTA after last
weeks run as she wrapped them in a tissue and someone binned them at the
run.....Raffles were drawn.....won by JANGLES and QUEENIE......down downs
for the hares.....Lots of vacancies for runs coming up.....so if you can
help out the committee would be pleased.....don't forget SWISSLAY's lingerie
party Thursday 28th.... Another end to a great night and time to head off
for another week.....great company as always and thanks for all the effort

.ON ON RASH
Run 1635 - 11/05/2009 - 8 Goodwin Street, Kangaroo Point.
Hares - Pussy, Darby, Zero and Stirling
42 Hashies arrived at Pussy's to begin our walk. We all lined up
alphabetically (I'm sure that was the easiest way to count our heads !!)
Funny that Puss ended up with a few subways left over - what happened to the
count Puss ??
The false trail at the beginning sorted a few of us out - very clever Hares had a great walk through Kangaroo Point. The water and city views are always
breath taking, especially on a clear moonlit night. A wee bit chilly but we
soon warmed up by stepping up the pace. Darby did an excellent job of
setting the run - perfectly marked.
Got back eager for some warmth and food, and we weren't disappointed, with
delicious dips and nibbles, very juicy fresh fruit, and the bottles of juice
were most acceptable for the parched Hashies..
Yummy Subways followed, made up of beef, ham and salad. The vegos weren't
forgotten either - we finished off with chockie chip biscuits (can't match
Mr. Cox's choc fudge slice !!! ) and our personal lolly bag.
Pussy had Dermalogica cosmetics at a fire-sale price. Some items marked at
$ 110.00 were a real bargain at $ 10.00 a piece.. no profit margin there
Puss !! Thank you for your generosity. Yours truly( moi ) scored well with 3
items !!
Birthday Down Downs were had for Puss, Stirling, Darby and Zero.
Archives has available the very worthwhile entertainment book. Using it for
two meals almost pays for the outlay, and there are many great venues to
explore. She is also trying to drum up a Tupperware party with much wine
being offered as an incentive !! Are you providing cabs home Archives ???
With Bloodsucker away Flower and Hi Time took over the joke mantra. (hurry
back Bloody !!)
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the changeover Luncheon on the 20th
of June at the
Taylor Range Country Club in Ashgrove. Out with your beautiful cocktail
numbers (Sorry I will miss the day - have a drink or two for me !!)
Jangles is organizing a group for The Hunter Valley Marathon on the 19th
July. Walking through the vineyards ( could turn into a stagger ! ) all a
good cause for children and families living with cancer. Believe me, there
are many of them.. very sad ...we can make a difference. See attachment, or
for more information contact Hi Time or Jangles. Be quick to get a place -
anything to do with Grog amongst Hashies is popular.
Thank you Hares for a great night. We are all so lucky to be able to
exercise and jaw-jabber amongst such a great bunch of friends.

Hares: Psycho & Trainee (Mr Psycho)
Even though it was a long weekend, 16 Harriettes plus Psycho's daughter, Amy
and G String's daughter Rachel came to get some exercise, socialise and have
some yummy food at Psycho's abode at Taringa. Some of the girls arrived a
little late as Teaser forgot it was an early start eventhough Pithy and
Gingernuts had reminded her the week before. At least they arrived and
headed off at a fast rate and even managed to catch up to some of the front
walkers. I think they must have either caught a cab or Psycho gave them a
lift to give them a head start!
It was a well marked, rather long run that took us over parts of Taringa and
Indooroopilly. It is amazing the hills that you come across. Good for the
thighs!
Back at Psycho's we caught up with everyone's news:
Psycho and Amy pampered themselves with facials etc last Friday for
Psycho's birthday
· In all the years that Granny May has been in Hash, this is the
first time she has been to Hash when it has been a long weekend as she is
normally away somewhere with Spermwhale and the family - amazing record!
· Pithy likes the actor, Zac Effron (very young too!!!)
· Eveready is in Bali
· Bigfoot is still in NZ
· Bloodsucker is in Cairns visiting family
· Spinifex was catching up with friends in Sydney
· OS and Flower went to Nash Hash in Cairns. Flower did you get
arrested running through the streets of Cairns minus your top?????
· HiTime announced that the next Nash Hash will be held in Hobart
from 25 -27 February 2011. Brisbane missed out this time but might be
hopeful for 2013.
· Gumnut shared copies of a new Queensland magazine and even features
in at. It is certainly a great read.
· Yours truly mentioned that she has offered to have a Tupperware
Party for her niece at 63 Malcolm Street, Hawthorne on Saturday 16 May at
3pm. I'm not really into Tupperware but thought I could turn it into an
afternoon tea with nibbles, drinks etc. If you would like to come along for
a social chit chat, just let me know so that I have plenty of food and
drink. By the way there is no obligation to buy anything.
Nosh was rather delicious and consisted of yummy dips followed by Spicy
African Beans, Savoury Mince, Salad, chocolate Birthday Cake and healthy
lollies.
Raffles were won by Krypton (strawberry body butter) and Teaser (fancy star
candle arrangement.) Maybe Teaser needs to win an alarm clock or new watch
so that she is not late picking up her Monday night travel buddies!!!! What
do you think, Pithy and Ginger?
Amy shared some great holiday photos with us and showed us copies of her
favourite DVD's. By this stage and it was only 7.25am, poor Uranus was
yawning as she was so tired after a busy weekend of gardening.
Long weekend pub runs can be lots of fun with harriettes being given the
night off to set a run and cook but a special thanks must go to Psycho,
Richard and Amy for opening up their home for a Monday night run on a long
weekend. We all certainly enjoyed ourselves.

Hares: Granny May, Swisslay & Double Fault
What a magnificent night for a walk/run.....perfect weather. A couple of
the girls had jackets on, what will they be like in winter? We took
off from Granny May's house, up past the railway station with everyone in
fine form. Spinifex and Archives setting a cracking pace and yelling for
the front walkers to step aside!
There were spots of cool air and warm air, not sure what created that but it
certainly was pleasant. On through a nature reserve and then back into
civilization, then wound our way along the streets of Manly. Finally
down through the café strip and onto the waterfront. By this stage
Hi-Time and I were a tad worried where the rest of the pack were as there
was not a single Harriette in sight. Our only hill was up the "cliff
face" and a few more streets and HOME. A little longer than normal
Monday night run, however it was extremely well marked. Anyone who may
have gotten lost obviously did not follow the arrows or were too busy
talking to see where the trail went! It is ideal to keep the run/walk to
one hour as some of the slower walkers
find it extremely hard to get back at a reasonable time. Don't forget
REGROUPS when setting a run it helps to keep the pack together.
Delicious dips with vegs were served, then followed by salad with rissoles.
Double Fault spoiled us again with her wonderful cooking skills and served
up some yummy biscuits for desert, then of course the traditional lollies.
Great food, thanks Hares.
Down downs for the Birthday girls: Mussels, Uranus and Krypton. Not
game to ask their ages!
Down downs for the Hares, well done Granny May, Double Fault and Swisslay.

Hare:
Farkarwe
What a huge night it was! Over 40 people with 5 'newies' and 3 old returns.
A great turnout on such a wet evening. Luckily FARKARWE had made enough
pasta for an army, much appreciated by all who braved the elements!
I cannot tell a lie - there were only nine of us but we had a delightful
night sitting around one table talking about you slack arses! There was a
rare Harriette moment - a renaming - but only valid for the next month while
FARKARWE is in Italy she will be known as and referred to as FOCCACIA.
Also present were STALKER, really nice to have her back permanently.
SWISSLAY, going for hi-tea at the Stamford for her birthday (LA-DEE-DA)
DOUBLEFAULT, very excited about her 2 week holiday starting immediately.
GSTRING, she and Kevin are all set to meander with the gander on Satdy.
HI-TIME ran the meeting just as per usual and kept us all in order.
TANIA, Wowsa's niece came along with PUSSY and really enjoyed herself.
While Foccacia had been shopping at the local supermarket earlier in the
day, she ran into her neighbour Lee her turns out to be TOO MATURE and
immdeiately offered to set the run. 2 hours and 3 bags of rice later she
completed said promise but only one thing wrong...we turned left instead of
right 100 metres from the start so didn't follow at all. Sorry TM! She gave
us all a downdown for being so slack and not staying on trail. Reckons we
should have picked up all the rice and brought it back for her.
I know most of you would have been recovering from Easter and there were
some genuine excuses - Pithy and Dribbler are in training for the Gold Coast
Marathon and had completed a big walk earlier in the day. TartA just lives
too far away and couldn't make it (ha ha sorry buddy).
A very relaxed evening had by all but now FOCCACIA's poor mother will be
eating pasta for the next three weeks.

Hares: EVERREADY, DRIBBLER AND JANGLES
St Patricks Day Run and what a run it was. The Hares set a mean run, up
hill down dale and us all braving the elements, Scary stuff like Rain,
Lightening, Thunder, Wind. Through the bush we tramped huddled together,
scared, but brave...............Not!!!
It was too bloody scarry with the lightening so the consensus was not to run
in it, some of us did a few little excercises, some of us talked (or all of
us), we drank creme de menthe and lemonade, laughed at knockout being there,
when asked what the bloody hell is she doing, she said she didn't care about
the weather 'just had to get out of the house' !! I think most of us can
relate to that!
The brave ones were; Knockout, Uranus, Mussels, Bigfoot, Swisslay, G-String,
Teaser, Double Fault, PithHead and last but not least was Phsyco who brought
the raffles and came with a big smile on her face, so glad she had made it
as she was lost for at least an hour, good on you girl! and of course the
wonderful Hares that prepared a scrumptious feast for us all, Dribbler,
Jangles and Eveready. Thank you.
We did have a real achievement anniversary MUSSELS 600 runs.
Congratulations.
All in all it was a memorable St Paddy's day run, one we won't forget in a
hurry.

1623 - 16-02-2009 Valentines Day Joint Run at Ascot Bowls Club.
What a wonderful turnup we had for this very interesting run set by Archives
and Anchovie. Harriettes there were: Bloodsucker, Swinger, Winjamer,
Pussy, Archives, Krypton, G-String, Pshyco, Mussells, Uranus, Zero, Flush,
Takeaway, Darby, Dribbler, Jangles, Watermelon, Everyready, Teaser, Gutsee,
Emannual, Doublefault, GumnutThe gathering took place at Ascot Bowls Club,
very easy to find. Got there early so good to catch up with the troops,
Harriers and Harriets before we set off. On on, through the back streets of
Eagle Farm quite industrial, and oh so interesting. We followed the arrows
but so many seem to march to the beat of their own drum.............we were
everywhere! Drink stop was a hell of a long way to get to but certainly
worth it, lovely little beach on the river. Port and lemonade, just the
ticket watching the citycat cruise on by, it was hot and sticky, but lovely
and cool at the drink stop. I think some of the Harriettes bribed Anchovie
with a ride back, but us die hards ran, jogged, walked back to the bowls
club. Pshyco was the trooper of the night with the bucket in her boot,
champagne and orange, lovely cold water, she was excellent and then ran the
raffle all night..........well done Pshyco! You never know what's going to
happen in a Harriers circle and this night was nothing less than ridiculous.
The men have a pussy galore and called him out for a down down and a sit on
the ice! He was very ruluctant and piss farted around so who but parted the
crowd and walked up to the ice, downed her shorts and
knickers..........sticking her bum at the men, but our beloved pussy!!!!
What a hero, she sat on the ice without a quiver, jumped up giving the boys
a big eye full, pulled up her knickers and got on with it,.............our
Pussy she did us proud! We all had a really good night, lots of laughs and
a great turn up, On ON Gumnut.
Rash's 50th lunch at Wowsa's - 35 Harrietes for lunch, all decked out
looking a million dollars (Rich bitches). Everyone signed the birthday card
and contributing to a weekend away for Rash and her husband. After, what
could only be described as a FEAST....the food was so yummy and scrumptious,
everybody contributing. Lots of lovely women catching up, having a laugh
and yes even a cry when Rash thanked everyone for coming and contributing to
the weekend away which she said she is very much looking forward to it. She
also said she was so thankful for everyones support and companionship.
Womenhood...........there is nothing like it, love was definately in the
air! Thank you Wowsa for allowing us all into your lovely home.
