ABOUT CAROLCarol Moseley Braun was born in Chicago on August 16, 1947. Her father, a law enforcement officer, was a consummate renaissance man, a musician who mastered seven instruments and spoke several languages. Her mother was a medical technician. South Dakotans are excited about Carol Moseley Braun!The former U.S. Senator and U.S. Ambassador's campaign has caught fire. South Dakotans are learning that Carol shares their values. HONESTY – at a time when members of the current administration are pointing fingers of blame at each other for deception and lies, Carol is strong-minded and straight-talking and is not afraid to say how she feels about the issues. EDUCATION – As a U.S. Senator, Carol was a tireless fighter for America’s schools. IMPROVING HEALTH CARE – There are 75,270 people in South Dakota with no health insurance: 17,300 are children. 84,947 South Dakotans depend on Medicaid which the current administration is putting at risk. Like she has done in the past, Carol will fight to improve health care for all Americans and protect Medicaid. PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT – South Dakota is a beautiful state. From the Black Hills to the Badlands and throughout our state, we can truly be proud. Time and time again, George W, Bush has proven that he is no friend of the environment.
