-Project Lead and Designer, Kain Draygon
Our current project, tenatively titled "Hikari no Densetsu", is approximately 10% done.
The main question most people ask refer to our team, Binary Wizards, and who we are. Well, I suppose it's high time I answered that.
-Kain Draygon (me)the project lead, main story and plot designer, main programmer and game engine. Kain Tycho Imperius Hlallu Draygon.
-Chaos Evenhawk is the Web Designer, responsible for some game code, some story elements, and the color scheme for many sprites. ^_^
-Frost Ta'ni Kendrick is main map designer and story editor.
-Yume Awaranai, also a main contributer, is the main art director, and story line contributer. She is also responsible for play testing.
-Speedy is a relatively new member, and is currently slated for play testing.
Another question I occasionally get asked is, "Why Hikari no Densetsu"? This series was conceived waaayyy back in '94, nearly 10 years ago. As such, it has changed in shape, form, and design over those ten years. However, due to it being designed in Pen and Paper form, we are experiencing a few difficulties converting the game engine (Currently using RPG Maker 2000 w/RTP) to one more compatable with the rule set I designed. By the way, Hikari no Densetsu is Japanese for "Legend of Light", roughly.
Finally, the first Book in the series is slated for release late 2004. No other information is available until later. However, you might have noticed that I said "Book 1". Hikari no Densetsu is actually the first in a series of three.
It is the culmination of several of my series and several third party developers, such as my heros at White Wolf, Dungeons and Dragons and Forgotten Realms, and Final Fantasy, just to name a few. The series is based both on these, as well as some of my series, such as "The New Gunman Chronicles", "Replighost", "Star Traveler" and others.
Well, that's the main point. The series is the first project by Binary Wizards, and I hope it exceeds everyone's expectations.
Current Progress:10%
Characters:75%
Battle System:90%
Story Line:10%
Art:50%
Music:90%-100%, and I wish to extend my thanks to VGMusic.com!
Thank you for being patient. Until that story line starts to increase, nothing else will be developed. The story line is what I consider to be the main point of the game; it is the driving force behind the story. Without that, the other thousands of lines of code are just a random battle engine.
Finally, Hikari no Densetsu, and it's next two sequels will be 100%, completely, no-obligation,cancel-anytime free. As they are non-profit, I can use both the RPG Maker engine, any characters therein, and the music from VGMusic.com by right of the Free-Public use act of 1979. (I'm not entirely sure on the year; I'll check on that later. But I would appreciate if no one would sue us. We're doing this for fun and to help out the community.)
Thanks!
