Starlight and candlelight filled the room. The slight scent drifting from an open bowl hung in the air like gauze. A table set for two, the candles burned down with plates and wineglasses still half full, sat abandoned. All was quiet.

In the next room, two sated bodies lay close together. The lighter of the two moved so that his head rested on the other's chest.

"Vok?" Silence greeted the muttered word.

"VOK?" The more insistent voice was ignored.

"*TU*vok?" This time the voice held exasperation.

"Yes?"

He sighed. "Why won't you let me call you Vok?"

The logically answer didn't really surprise him. "It is not my name."

"You call me Kotay."

"You insisted."

He sighed again. "If you'll let me call you Vok when we're alone, I'll get you the thing you want most."

"I am Vulcan. I do not *want.*"

"Uh-huh." Sarcasm didn't begin to describe the emotion laden in those syllables.

Silence filled the room. Finally, Tuvok heaved a breath. Chakotay would have called in a sigh but Vulcans do *not* sigh.

"Curiosity get the better of you?"

"Chakotay, I do not feel..."

"Curiosity, yeah I know, but your no emotions act doesn't fly with me. Logically, explain to me why you carried me in here in the middle of dinner, if you don't have wants."

The long pause made him smile. He'd finally bested his lover.

"For your pleasure."

He laughed aloud. "I was perfectly fine eating dinner."

"Then why did you keep licking your fork in a suggestive manner?"

He rolled his eyes. "To tease you, but we're getting off topic. Let's say there is something you want. If I were able to get it for you, would you give me what I want?"

"Permission to call me a nickname?"

"Exactly."

"An exchange would be logical. However, I do not know what you would seek to obtain for me."

"I suppose what I have in mind is more for us, but even sharing it would be worth it"

"I still do not know what item you speak of. How can I agree to an exchange without having a value to weigh my own forfeit against?"

He moved to whisper in Tuvok's ear. "Harry."

There was another long silence before, Tuvok spoke. "I believe we have a deal."

Chakotay smiled and snuggled back against his lover. His fingers played idly on his chest.

"Tuvok?"

"Yes?"

"Are you tired?"

Two Days Later…
Harry Kim could’ve sworn that someone was watching him. For the past few days, he’d felt their gaze. He’d spent a lot of time looking over his shoulder. Of course, he never saw anyone.

At first, he’d dismissed it as nothing. The longer it went on the more he doubted his sanity. Sighing, he thought about going to see the Doctor.

He looked over his shoulder again as he turned the corner and ran right into Chakotay. He jumped and lost about six years off his life.

“Whoa there, Harry.”

“Sorry, Commander,” he mumbled, blushing.

“No problem. I was actually hoping I’d get a chance to talk to you. Let’s go somewhere private.”

Harry followed out of pure curiosity. Whenever they’d talked business, it had been in public. They stepped into a dark, empty set of quarters.

“I have a proposition for you.”

Chakotay looked around. Seeing no one, he skipped a few steps toward his office before returning to a more sedate pace. The slight grin on his face was uncontrollable.

Entering his darkened destination, he snickered. Tuvok was certainly in for a surprise. This had been a lot simpler than he’d thought. He’d followed Harry for a couple of days until he’s decided that approaching him wouldn’t send him into shock.

His grin grew into a broad smile. He’d more than been willing. He’d jumped at the chance. Judging from the kissing session he’d just left, having Harry in their bed was going to be very fun and if he had anything to say about it, he’d join them permanently.

Just thinking about the two of them together had led to some very steamy days and nights. Chakotay sighed. Tuvok wouldn’t be off duty for an hour and he needed… to let off some steam. Calling for a privacy lock, he proceeded to get… comfortable on the couch.

Later That Night…
Tuvok refrained from sighing as he felt his lover enter his shower. Chakotay had been in a very spontaneous mood of late. He did not object so much as was baffled by his choice of timing.

He felt a hand on his back and froze for an instant. This wasn’t Chakotay. The hand was too mall and lacked the calluses on the palm.

Only seconds later, he was staring into the surprised eyes of Harry Kim. He himself was surprised, well, in a Vulcan sort of way. Then, he recalled his bet with “’Kotay.”

With a mental note to ask his lover how he’d arranged this, he released Harry. He arched his eyebrow to say “So you are here, what are you going to do now?”

In an instant, Harry got over his nervousness and pounced. His lips attacked Tuvok’s neck. Mentally cataloging the order of the “groping” as ‘Kotay called it, he held back a moan as Harry moved down his chest. What Harry lacked in skill he made up for in enthusiasm.

He waited a moment before he took over the lovemaking. As he pinned Harry to the shower wall and watched water run over smooth skin, he decided ‘Kotay was right. It was worth being called by a nickname.

A dazed but grinning Harry Kim staggered out of the bathroom, half an hour later. Chakotay smirked at the look on his face.

“You used it on him, didn’t you?”

“What would the ‘it’ be you’re referring to?”

Tuvok guided him to the bed where he eased down near Chakotay, soon he was snuggling between them.

“The ‘I’m naked, your move’ eyebrow.”

A blank face turned to look at him over the head of a still out of it ensign. “That may be the most illogical statement you’ve ever made.”

Before he could respond, a loud snore came from the middleman on the wide bed. Tuvok looked down at Chakotay as he laughed.

“Damn, Tuvok, you didn’t have to wear him out.”

“’Vok, ‘Kotay. ‘Vok.”

The two shifted to lie more comfortably against Harry who was snoring much quieter.

“’Kotay?”

“Hmm?”

“How did you manage this?”

With a broad smile, he responded. “I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.”
