Warriors versus North High (Bakersfield)
After five years of no games between these two schools, the rivalry was resumed in 2023. Tehachapi enroute to an undefeated regular season in 2023, crushed North 49-6 on the mountain. The win gave the Warriors an 11-2 lead in the overall series.
North finally broke a long losing streak against the Warriors, winning the 2017 meeting by a final 13-0 count.
The two schools met for the first time as members of the SEYL in back-to-back games in 2013 and 2012.
The Warriors also defeated North in a Division II playoff game in Tehachapi in 2013.
The Warriors and Stars played a home-and-away series in 2010 and 2011 in non-league games.
The 2010 contest marked the first time the two schools had played each other since 1954.
North High School in Oildale-Bakersfield opened its doors to the public in 1953. North High School was a member of the South Sierra League for
two years in 1953 and 1954 before moving out of the league to face competition against bigger Bakersfield area high schools.
