Warriors Earn a First Round Bye
The 2015 Tehachapi varsity football team earned a first round bye and a #3 seed in the valley playoffs after the brackets were released
Saturday afternoon from the CIF Central Section offices in Porterville.
Tehachapi will play the winner of #6 seed Tulare Western - #11 North Bakersfield in Tehachapi on November 20, 2015, at 7:00 pm.
The Warriors are playing in the post-season for the 20th straight season under head coach Steve Denman.
The Warriors had a very successful 2015 regular season finishing with a final 7-2 season record. But those losses were to South Yosemite League
champion Ridgeview (10-0) who earned a #1 seed in Division II, and Centennial (6-4), a Division I team.
In Division III, Hanford (9-1) earned a #1 seed; and San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno earned the #2 seed. There are 13 teams in the DIII playoff
tournament with Hanford, SJM, and the Warriors all earning first round byes. The Warriors would have to win three straight games to win a CIF championship.
Tulare Western finished 7-3 for the season and defeated Tulare Union in the season finale to earn an East Yosemite League title with a
perfect 5-0 record. North High finished 5-5 for the season with a 3-1 Southeast Yosemite League record. South defeated North Friday night in the league championship game.
Tehachapi defeated the North High Stars during the regular season, 34-12.
