After an opening scrimmage series for both Tehachapi and South not reaching the endzone, the Warriors settled in and ended the contest with three touchdowns last Friday night at home.

Mountain Football accumulated 330 yards of total offense, led by a nine-yard touchdown reception by Dakota Medovitch from Bobby Howell and a pair of touchdown runs by Christian Terle and Caleab Hutto.

Jorge Garcia marked an impressive return for the Warriors after an injury forced the running back out his junior season. Garcia had 74 yards rushing on six carries, including an 18 yard catch from Howell.

Dalton Scaggs had the top rushing mark for Tehachapi with a pair of runs that totaled 83 yards, while Tyree White had 50 yards rushing on seven carries and Hutto 44 yards on eight attempts.

On defense, the Warriors recorded nine sacks, led by Angel Garcia recording two overall. Steven Cross also had a fumble strip and recovery that would have gone for a touchdown in a normal game setting.

In special teams work, Medovitch had a pair of punts that went 40 yards and Scaggs went 3-3 on PATs with booming kicks that sailed through the uprights. Also highlighting special teams was extra point defense, with Ty Curry and Ian Neufeld logging sacks and Logan Smith a field goal block.

The Warriors will open their season this Friday night at Exeter. The Braves will open at 5 p.m. and the Warriors will begin at 7:30 p.m.
