SILENCE

SILENCE

"A Salute To John John"

Wind stopped blowing through the trees,
there was silence everywhere.
In disbelief as news unfolded,
of a life the world did share.

At the very tender age of three,
John grew up, became a man.
He touched the hearts of everyone
in homes across the land.

Each mother watched him grow,
just like her very own.
The world was really a better place,
for his true compassion and concern.

Oh yes, he lived a lot of years,
each day was like a year.
His heritage he did not hide,
He was truly a man with dignity and pride.

Yet it is oh so quiet,
as silence truly fills the air.
As the world mourns in silence,
hearts are crying everywhere.

When the wind blows through the trees,
I've heard silence in the air.
I've shed more tears,I know...
like the world, I truly care.

I've seen a man saluting,
at the tender age of three.
That man will always live,
in my hearts memory.

God took him by the hand,
gently led him by His side,
and whispered, "John, I'm beside you,
You're alive, You have not died."

The wind will still blow through,
He don't have to compete with life.
The sea will always sing a song,
We will have no more sorrow or strife.

So John, may I salute you,
as you did so many years ago.
The whole world truly loved you,
I just had to let you know.

As the final chapter ended,
and the last song has been sung,
All of America salutes you John,
Our true American Son.
