Ms. Sue Foley

Sue Foley is one hell of a blueswoman, one hell of a guitar player, and, one hell of a interesting person. A native Canadian who ended up honing her blues chops "Deep In The Heart of Texas" (Austin, Texas to be exact), she has slowly become known as one of the premier blues musicians in the world by those who know what real comtemporary blues is all about. Few can match her as a "fretboard wizard," and her sizzling live performances have left audiences around the world shaking their heads and wondering where a woman of her enormous artistic gifts has been hiding. Here's a toast to Sue Foley in hopes that she will someday soon get all the rewards and recognition that she so richly deserves from not only blues lovers, but from those who love well crafted songwriting, emotional singing, and superlative guitar playing. Sue Foley is a true "sweet blues angel."

Sue Foley's

Every guitar playing bluesmaster needs a "personal" instrument that identifies their offerings to the "blues gods." Sue's "personal" instrument is a Fender "Paisley" Telecaster of indeterminate age. The late Jimi Hendrix once was quoted as saying that there are only two sounds that one can get out of a Telecaster..."and both of them are bad." Jimi never got to hear Roy Buchanan or Danny Gatton shake the universe with Telecasters. And Jimi never got to hear Sue Foley play exquisite blues of all types through her little "Paisley" Telecaster. I'm sure that Jimi would have revised his statement had he been serenaded by the "Tele" mastery of Sue Foley. Play on girl!

Sue Foley's

When a guitarist and her instrument reach an emotional highpoint together...it's like nothing else exists! The best musicians know when and how to touch upon "emotional content" so as to allow the fullest expression of their "inner-being" to be revealed to onlookers (or listeners via a recording) for brief moments during a performance. You can read their pains, joys, sorrows, hopes, and prayers within those "sacred" moments of letting others share the artists "reality," if you are focused and perceptive enough...and if the artist has led you to that "door of blues perception." Sue Foley is a blues "shaman" who can take you along with her wherever her voice and fingers wish to go along the blues fretboard matrix into uncharted lands that are hidden in our hearts, our souls, and our spirit. She has the mythical(?)mojo. Step into Sue Foley's blues world and HEAR the blues! Step into Sue Foley's world and FEEL the blues!
