Bhaal's Rage Against The Machine Page

Rage Against the Machine is a band formed in Los Angeles in 1991. After their first few preformances they were almost imeddeatly contacted by several lables, but did not sign beacuse these lables seemed to think the politics were a gimmick. They eventually signed with epic. But for most fans it goes far deeper.....
Rage, by definition, is a uncontrolled anger.
The machine is what our governments have evolved into.
The machine is about controling people, and keeping the poor poor, and the rich rich.
Rage Against the machine is about enlightening people, and haulting ignorance. RATM is about teaching people to think for themselves.

Perhaps the most politically oriented band of our era, R.A.T.M. is the voice of a generation that has grown up under the shadow of the lies veiling the truths of the Vietnam War, the seige on Waco, and the happenings at Ruby Ridge. Now the present administrations will pay for the deceitfulness of those of the past.
Never before has the anti-war theme been presented through the harsh and direct tones like that of RATM, but it is a cliche that has typically been more recognized than that of the folk-singers of the War period. One would be hard-pressed to find a better source of anti-establishment material than that which this band produces.
In a time when the press is eating from the hand of a govenrment that wants to deprive of us the right to bear arms, this is disheartening and shows the thorough lack of political motivation of the American people. In the coming years, similair bands will hopefully become mainstream and open the eyes of the public, stumbling around in the dark.

Those of you that still doubt the government's Big Brother tendencies should look into the fact that at any given time, our country is policing in some foreign country, for the most part not even wanted there. The US of A's imperialistic era never ended; we still pose a militaristic threat to many nations from within their borders, spending more on our military than most other militaries, if not all. It is a recorded statistic that the US spends more on one average soldier than on four average schoolchildren, and maintains an army larger than any other, save that of China. Ask almost any American citizen how they feel about these statistics, and they will most probably state that they are against this; both major political parties cite "change" as being one of their generic promises, yet the worldwide American military presence remains.
For a government that follows the will of the people, this one seems to be intent on guiding us,"like a father figure,"as it also seems intent on guiding worldwide affairs.
