Aztec Culture Project

Welcome to the world of the Aztec tribes. Their home is South America, around 700-1522 CE. There were eleven kings, all of whom ruled fairly. The last king, Chuatamoc, was hung by the Spanish explorer Cortes in 1522. The proper name for the tribes is "Mexica", although it doesn't really matter, we will use that term most often.

There is much academic dispute as to the dates of some events prior to 1440; Where the historical waters become more clear. This is due to the Mexica habit of re-writing their official history as the need suited them.
